men's hair – straight to wavy

I like having my hair longer (nose or ear length), moreso than short.
It's straight and I part it down the middle.
I see it all the time, but I don't know how guys with similar hair
lengths get the wavy look/curve at the ends that goes back. Do you need
to get a perm at a hairstylist for this? I thought it was just because
it's the nature of Asian genetics, but once in a while I see other Asian
guys with this look.
