Nail Polish Application

"Swati" <swati3...@yahoo.co.in>
Whenever I apply nail polish, within the same day my nail polish starts
removing from the nails wagely. My nails look awkward with half of my
nails covered with nail polish and rest of the portion remains
uncoated. Can any one suggest what should I apply on my nails so that
my nail polish remain fully on my nails atleast for 4 to 5 days?

If at all possible, try to keep your hands out of water for a full 8
hours. If you can polish your nails before going to bed, without
smearing, would be best.
The absolute best thing I've found to keep polish on is 8 drops of
regular Super Glue in a bottle of new polish. Shake well, and apply as
usual. Regular nail polish remover will take it off, but you have to
work at it. The best thing I've found is acetone and it removes the
old polish easily. This can be found at Wal Mart and beauty supply
stores.

Wow! I've never heard of that!
My advice would be to make sure there is no oil, hair products, lotion,
etc...on your nails prior to polishing. Use a nail brush to clean them off,
apply a base coat if you want, and then polish.

Walmart carries acetone? wow, that's scary!
Why is that scary? Honestly asking. I have no clue.

Yep, 'fraid so. I use to have a hard time getting the polish off and
then tried a bottle of acetone I bought in the beauty/bath department
of Wally World. Voila` stuff comes off verrrrrrry easily now. I find
when I use the super glue polish combination I can get a full month's
wear of polish on the tootsies.
Someone told me about this mixture about 20 years ago and have been
using it since.

acetone isn't something you want the general public to have
access to.

Evidently Wal Mart could care less as long they get your money. BIG
bottle, too.

Yes, it does. However, using it once a month on my toes is not bad. I
have a job that makes it extremely difficult to use polish on my
fingernails so I don't wear it. Thus no problem with the acetone
drying those out.
