light summer pants for men

"Kernix" <jimkerni...@gmail.com>
I remember seeing a guy last summer with what looked like a super thin
pair of pants – moved like tissue paper in the breeze. Now – no
wisecracks. I'm guessing they were linen. I'm looking to pick up
something similar – a pair of super thin, lightweight, breathable pants
for the summer.
Any idea what they're called and/or where would be a good place to shop
for them?
Thanks,
Jim

Do you care if they wrinkle like hell? Linen will (always? usually?) do
that.
I googled for "men's linen pants" and one of the sites that came up was

Doesn't sound like linen. It sounds more like parachute material ...
rip–stop nylon... sounds very hot! I'd like to make a pair.

Just thought of another possibility... they could have been fine Indian
silk or fine cotton like they have in India or Nepal. Linen doesn't
sound right.

Wrinkles – I'd say no, I don't want wrinkles, but then you would call
me a hypocrite if you saw me ;–)
Wrinkles could be masked with a darker color – gray or something.
Like the site link – like some of the shirts there as well. Thanks!
Fine indian silk or fine cotton – know of any links?

The pants you saw...did they have traditional zipper flies? If not, and
they were drawstring style, I think it would be relatively simple––and
inexpensive––to have some made for you.
BTW, I think there is a "handkerchief weight" linen that is very light.
It's possible you saw something like that. You definitely want a "natural"
product (and not rayon, even though it is wood pulp–based).
