pointy–toed shoes

"AJ" <ajfash...@att.net>
Every darned magazine I read says they are out out out,
but I swear I don't think I can give them up. They look so
good with trousers and jeans. I know Caryperk will never
give them up, but are there others who are going to ignore
the trends and keep wearing their?

I wish I could wear them, AJ. I try them on while shoe shopping and
they just pinch the heck out of my toesies. But I do drool over them,
sigh sigh.
Don't fret... Nordstroms seems to have an equal number of pointy toe
and round toe shoes.

They were all over the place in the Las Vegas shops. I can wear them if
I have enough room for my toes.

I will. And I can assure you they are still very much on sale around
here.

I will for sure. I know I can't get used to those rounded toe flats. They
just aren't flattering for me for some reason.

Ignore the magazines. Who knows better, us, or the people who keep
giving Great Lash best mascara awards?
Pointy is always in, IMHO. Maybe not the more extreme pointy, but
still, pointy shoes are just...special. We all know the truth, like
Karen and Melissa of the book "The Fashionista Files", the fashionista
shoe has a pointy toe, no matter what the round toe mafia says. :–)

I love my pointy toed shoes and I refuse to give them up (of course, at
this point, that would be chucking out a substantial shoe investment).
I don't care what the magazines say.
By the way, I'm new here, so I thought I'd take this chance to say hi.

Helloooooooo, Orla!
I love the pointy toed shoes!! Like Stacy says on "What Not to Wear"
they elongate and slenderize the leg. Can't remember who the poster
was that said they pinched her toes, but perhaps a wider shoe or the
next size up?
lollygirlb...@hotmail.com
Definitely still "in" and loads available in Australia. I will never
give them up as they elongate my fat feet.
"justme" <avong...@verizon.net>
I won't give them up! Those rounded ones I've been seeing in the
stores make me look like a troll, way to stubby for shorter people (I'm
5'3). Definetly keeping with the sleeker look of the pointed toe!

I read a customer review at Zappos.com, and they said indeed, one should get
a larger size when getting pointy toe shoes.
At the point (no pun intended) from your toes to the tip of the shoe, it is
only a design for show, not meant for your toes to go into at all. The
demarcation of your toes should just be barely visible over the top of the
shoe. So there is alot of room in the box part of the shoe and no crunched
toes...
Just love love how Angelina Jolie looks with her pointy toed shoes, very
feminine and edgy and leggy!

Pbffft...to the magazines. I love my pointy toed shoes and will keep
wearing them.

You called it AJ......I'm not giving them up. My 11's look gorgeous in
their long pointy toed shoes. :–)
I think the little square toed shoes look like pig's feet!

That's my girl. I knew you'd make me feel better than I did
after having read the People Stylewatch, which put them in
OUT category.

Maybe "petals" shoe cushions or the moleskin type that keep the foot
from sliding forward will help. Mom's a devotee of the cushions and
pointy toed shoes, now and always (though she's of a certain age).
Enabling anyone who's had bad luck with pointy toed shoes but is
willing to try again,

I think it depends, too, on where the point begins and how the shoe is
cut. One of the most comfortable pointed–toe shoes I've ever owned is
from the IM line at Target–– the shoe is somehow cut so that the point
extends past the actual toebox (where my feet really are). I'm not
explaining it very well, but essentially I'm getting the look of a
pointed toe shoe without feeling like my feet are "smushed". Since
these shoes are a little stiff feeling, however, I'd guess they might
fit me really, really well.
I'm disappointed that I've so far not been able to find nice looking
espadrilles with flat (or at least flatter) soles. I'm not a high–heels
person, whether on a wedge style or not (many espadrilles here seem to
be on a fairly high wedge).
A web order for spring/summer shoes is in my future, I suppose!
