bra fit question?

"selkie" <wildb...@swva.net>
Googled this and didn't find anything; forgive me if it's been done.
It's been ages since I posted anything, and I can't find the FAQ.
I measure out a 34A by pretty much any method I use. I am having a hard
time finding a bra that fits. I'm a size small on top, but apparently I
have a broad back or something, because 34A bands are way too tight,
even on the loosest hook, which leads to a big fat roll. Extenders
don't seem to help, because I have an additional problem, and that's
that I am, uh, widely spaced <grin.> The cups on a 34A don't line up
with my armpits; they're squeezed smack in the middle of my chest, even
with a demi.
34B's fit much better as far as band and where the cup is
situated...but I don't quite fill out the top of the cups, even in a
demi. This isn't a big deal under regular tops, but when I put on a
closefitting top...yikes.
Any ideas? Am I going to have to resort to padded bras? I don't like
false advertising <grin.> A professional bra fitting would probably
solve the problem, but I live in a far distant wilderness, and that's
not available.
Thanks, selkie

Go to Nordstrom. The SA should be able to help. I did this, and
found out I am a 32DD. I had been wearing 34C. Talk about being in
shock! I bought an expensive Wacoal there, and now I keep the style #
as a "favorite search" on ebay. I can get them new for 1/2 the price.

Hi Selkie,
I replied to you personally by accident, so I'll post it again in case it
didn't reach you.
From your description, it sounds like you should try a 36A. The 36 is the
measurement around the back, so if you are experiencing a tight band, and
the cups are too close together, then that's what should go up (not the cup
size A, B, C). When you went to a 34 B, I'm not sure why it fit better
around the band as it should have been about the same, it was probably a
different brand's sizing. Try a bunch of 36A's, you'll find one I bet. No
matter what your measurements, you should always try a few other sizes on,
even if you don't think they're your size.
Good luck!
Ami

Where are you getting new Wacoals for 1/2 price?

eBay like she said. I just did a search for 'New Wacoal bras' and found over
300 listed. Not sure if they're all half price, but it is eBay ;–)

Just find the style number on the bra you want, and create a "favorite
search" on ebay. They will email you every time one is listed. They
are usually NWOT, and I have bought at least 5 this way. HTH

I agree Ami. This would be my suggestion too.

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. Another poster told me about the
Thank Goodness It Fits line, and that looks promising too.
Thanks!
