sport jacket with jeans?

What style/colour sport jacket could be worn with jeans, can someone advise
me please?

Just try a few. I wear suit jackets with jeans for work all the time–
I think they look great especially on Fridays or when I don't have
imprortant meetings. A good solid color like black works well but it
can't be real formal looking– just put on your favorite jeans and try a
few jackets on...You'll know when you see it!

It truly is a chameleon jacket. It can work with so many colors as I can
see grey, blue, silver, black, and tan. It looks like it's tweed but is
really a woven material (zoom in on it). He wears it for dress (well, not
the MOST dressed) and for casual with jeans. I'm not especially trying to
sell you on this jacket in particular but you get the idea. Check out the
site because they have many other jackets that fit the bill. Their customer
service is pretty good too.

My favourite jeans are faded 501s, so don't know whether this affects the
advice? Probably wearing with brown suede brogues...

This is a very Adam Levine (Maroon 5) look. I think he has a nice
style. He often wears brown cord or wool hunting style sport coat with
jeans. The quintessential version of the look was his performance on
SNL with Kanye West.
He usually does a layer or two under the sportcoat, I think.
