I am consistently getting emails from customers that want to know which
colored contacts work best with dark eyes.
I have very dark brown eyes. I tried on maybe 10 different
brands/colors of contacts when I went for colored ones. Because of my
prescription, I was unable to find ANY green colors that worked for
me, but I did pick up some nonprescription contacts to wear behind my
glasses when I wanted a green color. The only nonprescription ones
that worked for me were CooperVision Expressions in Jade. These are
not bright green but definitely not dull, either. They're the only
green that made my irises change color at all, really.
For blue, I am very happy with Ciba Vision's FreshLook Colorblends in
True Sapphire. These are very bright blue and I get a lot of
compliments on them. I have these as prescription lenses.
I was unable to find any violet lenses that did anything other than
just wash out my natural dark brown color to a rather unflattering
grey.
I've never tried any novelty lenses so I don't know how efficacious
those are.
