What I Bought in Arizona

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
I love shopping in Scottsdale. The AZ climate is similar to what we
have at home so it is easy for me to find things I like. Of course, the
makeup buys have nothing to do with climate but anyway...
Saks...The SA at Armani was chatting away from the counter and you know
how they have those nice little stations with all of the cosmetics out.
I must have been there at least 10 minutes trying all sorts of items on
my hand before anyone noticed. They just got in the new line of silk
high color cream lipsticks and I purchased #11 as well as the Eye Mania
#3 palette (are you listening Dawn?) which has gorgeous green and gold
shadows in addition to two pretty browns. I do not have green eyes but
this color is the first one to make me take notice since a WTF shade I
bought many years ago.http://tinyurl.com/ovule (the link doesn't do it
justice) I also purchased one of the Kanebo lipsticks in a shade called
anthurium.
Nordstrom...This time the shoe dept. came through. I bought a pair of
Bernardo gold sandals with the big gold ring. The style is
medeival.http://tinyurl.com/qqq55
I also purchased Sesto Meucci dark tan woven leather sandals as it is
about time that I parted with my dark brown Cole Haans.
http://tinyurl.com/og6jn These two cost as much as the one pair of SW
sandals that never arrived.
I tried on gauchos...ha, ha, ha and bought a pair of cropped Lauren 5
pocket sports twill pants. These are like the long version I wear all
the time, just cropped for the summer heat.
I also bought a Lily a line brown and blue short skirt...dark brown with
blue flowers
Dilliards...Michael Kors orange scoop neck fitted long sleeve tee, mixed
panels of smoothe and ribbed fabric and gold stitching
I bought two beautiful shirts for DH for his May birthday, nothing for
the kids this time. I had a great time shopping with Carol. We were
searching store to store for the perfect handbag for her, a butter
yellow Cole Haan. Only those of here will understand that we spotted
this bag on the arm of a lady across the street from us. It took us no
time at all to determine the brand and where it could be found. The
first two stores didn't have it in stock but I understand Carol will
receive it by mail.
In two weeks I will be going to Las Vegas, my first time there in 25
years!

Where did you stay this time?
I am thinking of Staying at the Princess when I go this year, but am
not sure. I am a huge creature of habit.

Dang! Now I must stop by Saks tomorrow and check out the Armani
palette. I loved reading about your purchases, Audrey. It sounds like
you had a great time in AZ!

We stayed at the AZ Biltmore. It was built in 1929, the first AZ resort
with lots of history. I took a two hour historical tour and one of the
people in the tour group happened to be the grand nephew of Albert Chase
MacArthur, the man who was the architect. Mac Arthur was a student of
Frank Lloyd Wright and Wright's influence is seen throughout the
property. I've also stayed at the Phoenician, which has my all time
favorite resort spa.

1. No, because this is spam
2. No, because I really do not like pre–owned designer stuff unless it
is true vintage

This is NOT spam, just a tip from a Valley resident.
If you are interested in looking at beautiful vintage and pre–owned
items in the Phoenix area, check out any of the locations of My
Sister's Closet. Two locations that I know of are on Camelback Road in
the Trader Joe's shopping plaza, and on Scottsdale Road, right by the
Black Angus.

Having been in My Sister's Closet several times it seems if you are
under a size 10 you can find great items, if over a 10, not much to
choose from.

Hi Audrey: Can you describe the Kanebo Anthurium? I recently bought
Imperial Pink which is more a corally pink than the nude pink that
someone had described but I love it. These have great staying power,
don't they?

http://tinyurl.com/ofcd4 Barney's says it is rust brown. I think it
is pink! I think it is a bright pink. Barney's thinks Imperial is a
medium brown pink. I think you just need to test them to figure out
which is the one you want. I tried out a lot on my hand before the SA
approached me.

Thanks, Audrey! Those (and Kanebo's) descriptions are so off what I
would describe the colors. I'm in Austin and not close to where anyone
sells the lipsticks. Luckily, though, the SA at Bergdorfs was a great
help. I'm wanting the Gold Amber Glow now.
