HUGE Fashion Purses and Bags!

"Aisha" <love4ai...@yahoo.com>
Are purses the size of suitcases really necessary girls? I am a college
student and of course I carry tons of books all day, so when I dress I
wear a huge bag to match my outfit that my books can fit in. However,
some women just wear them for show and they CANNOT possibly fill the
purse up with random things! Just a thought.

IME, crap expands to fill any and all available space. A big purse leads to
carrying too much stuff. Watching some of the runway shows, I noticed
teensy models carrying immense bags. The proportions were awkward; the
girls looked like they would fall over from the weight of the bags. (Maybe
they are carrying some much–needed food in those purses.)

p.s. Selling just a few vintage items on ebay. I spent a long time writing
the description of the Valentino dress, so I'd love a.f.ers to read it even
though it's a small size. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcofarbQQhtZ–1

Yup. Junk breeds especially in garages and purses. Money does not breed.
Neither does chocolate.
I think I'll go and sulk now.

For the first time in my life I actually need a tote or an oversized bag. I
have a consulting job where I have to park 2 blocks from the job site. I
need room for a pair of shoes so I can switch between my walking shoes and
pumps for in the office. And I like to bring a bagged lunch. So I am looking
for something. We've had some threads recently on oversized bags. I want to
find something stylish with a constructed look that costs less than $200.
From the prices I've seen, I think I'm dreaming, yet I remain optimistic. I
was flipping through a 'zine in a waiting room yesterday, and I saw
something that looked perfect by Nine West. But then it turned out the
magazine was from Spring 2005 :(

I used to have a great semi–constructed tote bag that had a separate
zipper compartment at the bottom for shoes. I think I got it at Hammacker
Schlemmer. A book, lunch and a small purse could fit in the top
compartment. Maybe somebody still makes it.

I'm using an oversized hobo as a tote bag:

The price is right, it's from Tarjay so pretty easy to find. It doesn't
have lots of compartments in it but I need those more in a handbag than
a tote bag. Today is the first really nice day in my area so I swapped
out the black Perlina for this. So far so good, it's holding all my
crappe nicely.

The Tarjay hobo looks to be the same size as the pink leather Ann Klein
bag I got from Bloomingdales. It was $149.

I have this bag from Under Armour: http://tinyurl.com/hwtrv
I use it as a gym bag but I can fit a lot of stuff in it. There's an
isolated zip compartment for shoes at the bottom and a separate case
that attaches to the side of the bag with velcro. I stick my wallet and
a few cosmetic items in there if I don't feel like carrying a handbag
within the tote.
