I bought my husband's cousins the double Walk the Line set of dvd and cd
exclusive to Wal–Mart. I also bought a lot of cedar stuff for the
closets, L'Oreal sublime glow self–tanner for my legs, Coppertone sport
with spf 50 for my arms, cat treats and Bounce free. DH bought himself
a new pair of Levi signature jeans, a gray tee for yard work, a 2 gallon
sprayer for roundup and charcoal. While waiting in line I spotted a
prominent attorney's wife. We were most likely both thinking, "What is
she doing here?"
I could name lots of US stores that have sweat shops. Do we ever
discuss how service employees do not get benefits and are purposely
given less than full time work for the week so they never qualify? I
also have strong opinions about unions undermining the quality of
education we have in our state. No, PLEASE no one start the dialogue
here again. We all make our choices. I know, David, you were not
attacking me.

I've been watching E since I returned from the gym this morning. For
whatever reason, I'm just not invested in the whole shabang this year
like I have been in the past. I haven't seen many of the nominated
performances and there isn't really anyone I'm seriously rooting for to
win. I do love seeing the photos of the dresses, hair, jewelry, makeup
and fashion disasters. I also would secretly love to see someone punch
Isaac for being too grab handy with the cleavage. Now that would be
Oscar worthy! Bless the fashion gods that you're TV is working!

Yes, though I would watch it anyway on the small one. I saw an
interview with Isaac. He way way out of line. OT but have you seen
North Country? It is so good and shows a woman standing up to men who
demean her and others. Hooray for Charlize Theron for doing suberb
acting in this one.

I did pick Clooney for Syriana. On both ballots. I picked
Witherspoon on booth ballots and Ang Lee for director.
I think the real contest is for picture of the year and supporting
actress. One one ballots I chose Rachel Weistz and on the
other one Michelle Williams. For best picture I split it between
Brokeback Mountain and that movie whose name I can't recall,
it's not Thrust, but something like that. The one set in Memphis.

navy velvet jeans with great flap pockets on the back
navy wool military blazer with navy velvet collar (old Jones New York

down with the velvet jeans
white blouse with ruffled placket, untucked (Nordstrom)
black suede very plain boots (Nordstrom)

It's cold & snowing today; hard to think that a few days ago I was
wearing a strapless dress, pointelle cardigan, and wedge sandals in 70+
weather! Today I am going to finish cleaning out my closets, put a few
more things on EBay, drop off some books at the library, and start
organizing bins for my move in a couple of months. My boyfriend thinks
he found the perfect townhouse for us, and although it doesn't have a
basement like we had wanted, there is a huge attic that the original
owners converted into a second living room! It's right in between
where his parents live and where my parents (er...just mom now) live.
Overall, today will be a cozy day spent mostly indoors & I'll probably
end up watching a movie with my sister since she's home for spring
break. My boyfriend has lots of appointments throughout Chicago today,
and it probably won't be a good idea for us to meet up since there's
now a blizzard warning in effect until midnight! Today's attire will
be nothing interesting...wore yesterday:
* Banana Republic rich teal blue stretch camisole with teal, camel, and
bronze beads and gemstones appliqued on teal mesh at the neckline
* Banana Republic sandy beige "Scooter" jacket with a stand–up collar &
silver zipper details, left unzipped
* White House | Black Market black pants with a hidden tab closure &
slightly flared leg
* Mossimo rich bronze peep–toe pumps with a 2.5" stiletto heel

HAPPY 59th BIRTHDAY TO TOMMY JAMES (born Thomas Gregory Jackson) (of
"cri–im–son and clo–o–ver, o–o–ver and o–o–ver..." fame): Didn't set
the alarm clock but still woke up about the normal time. Wrote a Farm
letter, then watched TV while the rain rolled in. Got out and made a
mailbox and credit union run about noon... the rain went away. Over to
the Mexican place for lunch (beef veggie soup). For the day so far:
Dark red T–shirt
Black shorts with no external logo
Nike Air Deschütz sport sandals (black/blue/yellow)

SATURDAY, PART 2... SHUTTLE CHALLENGER TOOK OFF ON A FLIGHT 22 YEARS
AGO WHERE THEY HAD MESSY MONKEY AND RAUNCHY RAT TROUBLE: Started my
laundry but didn't finish. Late in the afternoon, after the
record–setting rain passed, I went to Kroger and then scrubbed myself
clean for the 6:00 PM Church service. Fixed my own supper. For the
second part of the day:
Gray heather T–shirt
Blue denim chinos
Nike Air Pegasus 2002 iD sneakers (blues/grays)

STARTING 42 YEARS AGO TODAY, ALL TV SETS SHIPPED HAD TO RECEIVE BOTH
VHF AND UHF OVER THE AIR: Slept so–so until I gave in and took a
sleeping pill (I think I fuss about it more than my doctor does but
she sees more insomniacs than I do... all the pills labeled "may cause
drowsiness" and I have to have a bit more to push me over the top).
Did some computer stuff in the morning (got my 42 megabytes of weekly
stock market data... and I still scowl while waiting on the DSL). Over
to the Mexican place for lunch (chicken and spinach enchiladas). For
the day so far:
Gray heather T–shirt
Black shorts with no external logo
Nike Air Deschütz sport sandals (black/blue/yellow)

On the 54th anniversary of "MR. POTATO HEAD": Up with the alarm clock,
did the usual Monday trash run. Spent the day at work getting stuff
related to our off–site and reading documentation. Came home and had
yesterday's leftover soup while watching the news. Lots of mail in the
best Monday tradition. Spent the evening reading about setting up lilo
(the Linux loader, not the Disney character of the same name). For the
day:
Orange polo shirt
Blue denim chinos
Nike Air Presto Praia iD sneakers (orange/gray)

ON THE 336th ANNIVERSARY OF THE HUDSON'S BAY COMPANY ROYAL CHARTER:
Got up and off to work. Went to our off–site... the best conference
room in the normal building looks like a slum in comparison. Our admin
put together a call–in to Jason's Deli for those who didn't want to do
the cafeteria... it was good. Came home and got not much in the mail
(TIME and FOOTWEAR NEWS were the main things). For the first part of
the day:
Blue (the lighter of the two blue shades) polo shirt
Blue denim chinos
Nike Air Pegasus 2002 iD sneakers (blues/grays)

PART II – BERLIN FELL TODAY DURING WWII: In overload this evening
(it's quarterly earning conference call season). Allis–Chalmers Energy
and TXU both shot up like a rocket on their results.... so I want to
hear what they have to say. Think I'm going to feed myself tonight in
front of the computer and/or TV. I also haven't done a lot of
new–month bookkeeping. For the remaining part of the day:
White T–shirt
Black shorts with no external logo
"Paris Hilton" <pa...@hilton.com>
long black velvet skirt
white square neck shirt
grey ribbed cotton cardigan
black mid–heel Mary Janes
bezel set diamond earrings (white gold setting)
diamond heart necklace (round cut diamonds, raised yellow gold setting)
antique sapphire and diamond dinner ring
new emerald and diamond ring
black leather cuff watch, silver face with crocodile embossing on cuff
for outside: 3/4 length black all weather coat, single breasted, faux
fur collar; claret devore velvet muffler; black leather gloves
