What new products do you like now?

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
We missed February hits and misses so I thought I'd ask if anyone had
new products that are hits.
Maybelline lash stylist very black waterproof mascara...the comb
separates this dark black mascara very well. I tried the L'Oreal
shocking mascara duo for the past month but it comes out too thick and
the comb isn't as nice as the one on the lash stylist.
Albolene...how many years has EMD raved about this one? Basically it is
mineral oil and petroleum jelly. It doesn't sting my eyes and with
enough tissue and can really clean off all of the mascara.
Stila rain and shine palette...I love this one. Three gorgerous
shimmery neutral colors, cute size, mirror, perfect.
European soaps ltd...this company makes Pre du Provence but my new find
is the skincare products such as the lemon chamomile face scrub and the
sweet pea hand cream. There are various bath products and each has a
different pure scent.
www.europeansoaps.com I can't suggest stores because I buy it at a
local boutique
Stila rain and shine palette...still perfect for me, three gorgeous
colors that are shimmery beige, medium and darker brown

Hits:
L'Oreal mascara...Fabulous or Fabulash?
KMS Mousse
CVS Shaving Gel...a little dab will do you...enough for two legs...great
stuff.
My haircut...it rivals the cuts I got in London :)
Misses:
My haircolor...I used L'Oreal Superior Preference I think...it isn't the
formula, its me. I wanted to darken my hair and make it more of a brown
shade, instead of the light auburn I have been sporting. Whoops. Its
auburn again.

I am really really loving Maybelline Pure Makeup Shine free foundation with
H20. in Natural Ivory (a tiny bit lighter than Tarte Smooth Operator in
Conceal which has been too dark for me this winter). It's awesome in every
way except for it doesn't have spf. It's been so great on my skin and I
really don't want to put sunscreen on underneath it– so I only go out at
night ;) don't want to jinx anything. I got the Physicians formula solar
powder translucent spf 20 that I'm going to try. Really this foundation is
better than the tarte in everyway but the spf, which for a drugstore
foundation, that's pretty good.

wendyandbr...@webtv.net (Wendy)
Ami, I am also loving Maybelline's Pure Foundation. For $4.76 it was a
steal. It has a very nice, smooth consistency and dries to a soft matte
finish. Really good stuff.
Does anyone remember Revlon's Matte foundation in a bottle that you had
to shake, and it made a clicking noise when you did like there was a
metal marble or something in there? I used to absolutely love that stuff
until it was discontinued. The MB Pure reminds me of it, although the
Revlon was a liquid and the MB is a cream. The Revlon was a very thin
liquid that gave surprisingly good coverage and was very matte. The MB
also covers very well without looking obvious.

Yay! Yay! and...Yay! Audrey, I'm so happy these two products are Big
Hits with you! Of course, I will never stop raving about Albolene
("cheap, effective, readily available"...and totally faboo, too!) But
I'm very pleased that the Maybelline Lash Stylist––my new HG of
mascaras––is working for you, too.
As for my February hits, I'd have to say my (re)discovery of Clinique's
Almost Lipsticks, in particular the immortal Black Honey and also
Almost Blush, which is a pretty near–perfect MLBB color for me.
Also, Sonia Kashuk's stick blush in Sunkissed, which looks a
forbiddingly dark bronze–y red in the tube but is actually easily
blendable with the right brush (I use my trusty Px Buff Brush) and
gives me a lovely rosy flush.

Two new products I love is John Frieda's Luminous Color Glaze. I use
the blonde glaze and I love the way it lifts the color of my hair just
enough. My next favorite new product is a new blush color from Bare
Escentuals called 'Laughter'. This is a nice, natural blush color. My
next product is also a rediscovery....Bourjois 3D Effet Lip Gloss...I

STevie, I don't know what the sunride stuff is, but the PEP is $65 for

I have been using 2 different shades of the luminous glaze.. the
lighter one on sections around my face and the darker blonde on the

a creamy texture, condition hair first, rinse, squeeze out excess
water, then use this

Oh my gosh, so many!
Elariia Moisturizing Rich Body Cream w/shea butter and sweet almond
milk––fabulous stuff for this tail–end of winter. My sister gave it to
me so I can't recommend a vendor––I think it's available on QVC.
The Thymes Eucalyptus Body Lotion––a bit less rich and so refreshing.
Olay Thermal Skin Polisher––an apple–scented wake up call for my skin.
Kerastase Bain Miroir shampoo and Chroma Reflect conditioner. Love them
but wish they weren't so $$$, ack.
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer in Fair to Light 20. Blends in
perfectly, offers SPF 20, doesn't clog pores, and packaging is
ingeniously designed.
L'Oreal Double Extend waterproof mascara. Makes me have noticeable
lashes and doesn't smear or run, even at the funeral I went to yesterday.
Tarte The toolbox Brow Know–How––one of those all–in–one brow kits with
powder brow color, wax, brush, tweezers, pencil, mirror, and stencils.
At About $30 it does what the way more expensive Chanel kit does.
Pop Cosmetics 'Beaming Popette' palette with four shades of green eyeshadow.

2 things I tried as a result of recs here:
––Cover Girl Lash Exact mascara: I do have to still wipe the brush to
keep it from clumping, but it gives great extension (I have long
eyelashes but they are blonde tipped so they are almost invisible w/o
mascara) without making them too thick.
––John Freida Color Glaze: I've only used it a few times, but so far,
so good.
"tmemedia" <tmeinterme...@aol.com>
+ Armani Luxurious Silk Foundation –– my holy grail foundation so far.
Doesn't break me out, makes my old acne scars disappear, keeps me from
looking shiney at the end of the day, and I never need a touch up.
Fabulous stuff.
+ Chanel Irreelle powder blush in Glamour. Another holy grail, it's
been a great month. Perfect pinky/tawny color for me. Better than
Orgasm on me, it's more pinky. And it looks so completely natural.
I'm in love.
+ Covergirl Lash Exact mascara: much fewer clumps than with other
mascaras. And while it really makes my lashes pop, they don't look
trashy or unreal, like I'm ready for the disco. LOVE this stuff.
+ Physicians Formula Eyebrightener : this is miraculous stuff. I just
brush a little on the inner corners of my eyes and I instantly look ten
years younger. Brilliant.
+ Perricone's PEP powder: This is an expensive powder of flaxseed,
nutrients, anti–oxidants, and all kinds of things that's supposed to
make you more energetic, fight inflamation, and create world peace.
Well, still waiting on the world peace, but I've got to tell you, this
stuff really works for me. After a month of taking it once a day I had
so much more energy, I haven't gotten sick once during flu season (and
I used to get sick ALOT during the winter), and my skin looks so much
better. No exzema outbreaks, for instance, which has been a problem
for me. I was skeptical, but I took it for three months, stopped for a
month, and noticed a BIG difference without it. I'm back on again.

Three from Physician's Formula:
Shimmer Strips: It is one of those shimmer–brick type products. It's

wearing the colors in various combinations on my eyelids, you know,
neutral on the lid, darker in the crease, light near the brows. It can

It's nice to hear that Vaseline is making a good lotion. I think all

Not on me, and that is what makes it superior in my book. Jergens
gives great color, but I would always have that self–tanner smell on my
skin until the next day's shower. It was strong enough for my husband
to say, "Oh, did you put on self–tanner today?" (He's certainly not a
metrosexual, but he has picked up a thing or two by being with me for
thirteen years.)
It's a good product, it's reasonably priced, and for me, there is no
smell on my skin. I recommend it.
Although...did you see that Jergens has introduced a third shade in its
Glow lotions?

I just got into mineral makeup and I am very much liking Aromaleigh
foundation, and bareFaced Minerals Yarrow corrector powder and Kathy
D's concealer. Also, Aromaleigh's Color Wash for cheeks and lips is
chocolate–scented and a delight to apply. Sigh is a great color for
me for MLBB and MBBB (my blush but better).
A big *YES* to brushes from Essential Beauty Supplies. I bought the
Luscious Dome, Badger Flat Top Duster, Taklon Concealer, and the
really delightful Fiber Optic Blush Brush.
CoverGirl Lash Exact is working out pretty well for daytime wear. I
like the way it applies and it doesn't clump.
I am liking Green Cream 3%, which I'm currently trying a sample of. I
think I'll get the full–size bottle and start working up to the 6%. I
have been using Tazorac 1%, and my skin is getting a bit more
sensitive than it used to be, so I'm stepping back to Green Cream and
will work up from there. I like the way the Green Cream blend leaves
my skin looking in the morning.
And last but not least, I'm on the jojoba oil bandwagon for skin care,
and I am in love with Heather Loraine Filtered Jojoba Oil. The
filtered variety seems to sink instantly into the skin, and it really
does work in clearing up the little white bumps on my face.

Love, love, love my CG Exact Lash! I'm temporarily swearing off my L'Oreal
mascaras for this. That's a really big deal! I love the control of
application the brush gives but I also love the formula. It dries
perfectly – quickly but not so quickly that I can't rearrange mistakes.
I like the Dream Matte Mousse blushes and eyeshadows. Love the formula but
the staying power is not great. For the ease of application, I'm willing to
reapply the eyeshadow. The blush gives me the perfect touch of color and is
much more precise than powder blush – it's probably this way with all creme
blushes but this is the first I've had experience with. The blush is not
too strong either; it can be blended out easily and only takes a dab.

Only one new product: Wet N' Wild pout protector. I think mine is in
"pink". I couldn't find a URL for this though, which makes me think
that this really is a new product. It has spf 15 and is like the other
tinted lip balms (Almay, Neutrogena, etc.) that are out there. the WnW
is very light, which I like, and a little shimmery, which I also like
(I thought the Almay version was sometimes too thick). It is a skinny
tube reminiscent of a Stila product I've used in the past–– and at
$1.99, a real bargain. The WnW has a bit of a minty/Carmex like feel to
it going on, so if you don't like Carmex/Blistex, you might not like
this one. I bought mine in a Walgreen's near me.
Old products I'm liking: Fekkai sensitive scalp shampoo with lavender
and honey and the conditioner with soy protein (can't remember the
name). These are soooo expensive for me but my easily irritated scalp
and very dry hair like both of these a lot. My hair likes some
inexpensive shampoos (Dove and Garnier, especially) but the Fekkai
seems to rinse from my hair/scalp a lot better.

day. Using this on the non–wash day revives the curls/waves which have
flattened out from sleeping on them. I don't even need to use as much
as the instructions say: I spritz it on in a couple of places, work it
through my hair with my fingers, scrunch and go. Not at all sticky or
crunchy.
