Q: After hair facial hair removal

JeanneP <no...@Real.address.org>
I'm dealing with chair on/under the chin. I currently tweeze, but
frequently irritation/pimples result that lasts for days. My latest
attempt has been using my epilator before an evening bath or shower, and
making sure I clean the area well with soap and a washcloth, and then
not putting anything on the skin before going to bed. That seems to
help, but there are still some pimples.
How am I supposed to treat the skin after hair removal, to make sure I
don't get these pimples?
Also, doing a web search, I came across this product:
http://www.nevershaveagain.com/default.aspx?source=google
It promises to kill the root of the hair so it will never grow back
again. The device itself doesn't cost a whole lot when kept in
perspective; it seems they really seek to make money on the optional
one–time–use gel pads which make it possible to remove hair over a large
area at once. Does anyone have experience with this product?
Thanks,
JeanneP
[I must mention that I honestly have no connection with that product.]

I can't answer your questions about pimples and skin irritation, but I
do have a device similar to this one. It does kill the hair root, but
goodness, it certainly is time consuming!! Also, can only be used
successfully when the hair is in it's growth cycle.
Hopefully, someone else will have more or better solutions as I'd like
to know what else is on the market.

I bought Finally Free years ago sans gel pads and realized I wouldn't
live long enough to treat every area in question. Maybe I should give
it another try, but for now, Emjoi and Tweezerman are doing the job
satisfactorily.

I found this link for all the facial hair removal items on QVC. Some
of these might be a good alternative to using cream facial hair
removers, especially if pimples are a problem.

I've been dealing with the exact same problem recently. Mine are more
ingrown hairs that turn into pimple/whitehead things, but it gets very
irritated. I had on hand some Neutrogena Multi Vitamin Acne Treatment
( a product containing 1.5% salicylic acid – the same thing that is, I
think, in Tend Skin and similar products), so I've been applying that
once a day to my chin/neck area. It seems to be working; within a day
the area became very smooth and clean. I think it is the Salycylic
acid that helps with the irritation. This website explains why and how
the salicylic acid helps with hair removal irritation, and even
suggests that an aspirin dissolved in alcohol might accomplish the
same thing:

Good luck!

I don't know about the product you are asking about but I have
experienced skin irritation from hair removal. After I use the Sally
Hansen Hair Removal Creme on my chin area I almost always get some
irritation. I could just tweeze the few that would be noticable but I
really don't like the fine hairs that would take too long to tweeze.
Thanks to a previous poster for the salycilic acid suggestion. I think
I'll try that.

Don't know about hair removal, but TendSkin seems to minimize my post
tweezing pimples.
