Perhaps Walmart is making a profit selling contraceptives.
I don't know about WalMart (having not been a stockholder as long)
but Target (where I've been a stockholder since 1999, when they were
Dayton Hudson) always points at their pharmacy as being a major cash
cow.
That's the reason that, if you haven't noted, EVERY Target remodel
gets a pharmacy.
I probably should buy CVS stock because I insist on going to the
closest pharmacy and that's a CVS. Actually, I get most of my pills by
Medco By Mail but the stuff that I get when I'm acutely sick or
they're trying new stuff is at CVS.
I'm not driving three extra miles to Target when I have a 103 degree
fever. I hope they understand in Minneapolis. <grin/duck>
They are required to sell them in Illinois as well.
Mandatory Plan B is also the law in Massachusetts.
Given the way the press release read, they figured they'd get more
states saying the same thing so they threw in the towel.
