Has anyone tried this yet? I'll post as soon as I do.
I bought the amber to maple (I'm medium to dark brown) which may be too
light but since my hair is highlighted with caramel highlights, I didn't
want to lose those completely. It does say on the back that if your hair is
highlighted, you should choose the LCG that matches your highlights.
I went to a new stylist to have my hair cut, base colored (to cover grey and
match my natural color), and highlighted (just to soften my natural dark
color against my too pale skin). My direction was for the base color and
highlights that were not noticeable as such. After almost 4 hours I was
done and fairly happy but realized that she had matched the highlights to
the old highlight that had lightened considerably over time (even though I
advised her of such). I thought I could be happy with the look so I didn't
say anything. She was a good stylist and painstaking in her tasks. I will
use her again.
Bottom line is that after a couple of weeks, the highlights are now looking
lightish caramel and since there were many, many of them, my hair is looking
strawish. It's kind of feeling that way too. So I'd been thinking about a
clear glaze anyway to perk my hair up and it's just fate that I found this
in the store. It says color glosser/shine booster. There's a lot more
detail on the back but on the front of the package it claims "Reawaken
lackluster brunette hair with a shot of dazzling brown color, satiny
texture, and multi–dimensional shine." Let's hope it's true!
It was ~$8.50 and designed to use in the shower after shampoo and
conditioner.

Followup:
I tried this product yesterday and like it so far. After shampooing and
conditioning (not with JF products), I applied this and left it on for three
minutes or slightly more. It did darken the skin on my hands a little but
most disappeared after washing with soap. Immediately after rinsing it felt
like my hair was rougher – it had more grab to it and I was worried it would
be difficult to comb through. I only had a couple of small tangles but was
able to comb w/o applying another type of leave–in conditioner (which I
sometimes require in addition to shower conditioner to comb through this
cornsilk).
My impression is that LCG has already toned down my straw–colored highlights
to a mild honey color. I love it. They advertize that you need to use it a
few times before seeing a distinct difference and at least three times per
week to maintain that change. I can't wait to see what continued use will
allow. I didn't notice an improvement in shine but I'd bet that will
happen. My hair does feel well conditioned. I keep running my hands over
it and am impressed. The consistent highlighting and overall repeat
coloring on hair that is growing out was taking it's toll.
I'll post again after I've used it a few more times. Nothing came off on my
pillow last night.

I bought it the other day, I bought it at Jewel–Osco. I haven't used
it yet. My hair is light brown, with some golden highlights, which are
in sore need of a re–do. Last time I went to the hair stylist, I told
him I was growing my hair longer and wanted it not so blonde. I walked
out with a short, feathered, blonde hairdo. It was AWFUL, and I don't
want to go back, in fact I won't. This was, of course, someone very
expensive, who in the past has given me terrific haircuts. If it were
just one misstep, I wouldn't care so much. However, one year ago I
went in seeking a trim of a couple inches, and walked out with a
shorty–short–short cut he talked me into, and regretted it. That was
as much my fault as his, but then to do the exact opposite of what I
say, that is beyond the pale. I asked for a trim and the highlites
toned down, I wanted to go darker for the fall – my exact words.
OK, anyhow, I haven't used the red glaze yet, but will report back when
I do. Probably tomorrow.

I used it again today and I'm sure I do see a subtle change in the color of
my highlights. They do look like honey now – it toned them somewhat and
gave them a richer color. Danielle commented that she has red hair and
loves this as it freshens her hair when it dulls. I still haven't noticed
the extreme shine yet but I'm liking it and still holding out hope!

I used both shades of blonde. it does make hair shinier.. and it does
give the hair more oomph.
also you might want to use a good conditioner first.. also it takes
about 3–4 uses before the color shows up.. it's great for dull hair or
stuff that has oxidized a bit

Stevie: what do you mean oxidation? Wouldn't it be better to remove that
oxidation? Not trying to argue, but I think I might have that too, but I
think it's build up from the extremely high mineral content of the water.
Anyway, I think tomorrow I will do a cider rinse before hand. I can't
wait to try it.
