Nervous Kate

Ruddell <ruddell'Elle–Kabo...@canada.com>
This isn't a slam in any way just for the record. It never ceases to amaze
me, (or rather remind me) that even top celebrities are still just regular
people. Sometimes that is forgotten in all the hectic shuffle?

And I'm sure she'll be back on top of the world again soon...

Cheers!

Of course they're regular people. It's the media that makes them
bigger than life and completely inaccessible to the rest of the world.
Here's hoping she's put her drug problems behind her.

They may *be* regular people, but they aren't *treated* like regular people.
I wish them well, but I worry that it sets a horrible example for all of
us––particularly our children––when celebrities receive special treatment.
We have examples of so–called celebrities getting away with everything from
dwi to rape to spousal abuse to murder... Celebrities may argue that they
are held to a higher standard than the rest of us when it comes to things
like being photographed while having a bad hair day, but...boo hoo hoo.
Super models are glorified for being freaks of nature. Does any full–grown
woman actually believe that these girls achieve that look without drug abuse
or a whopping eating disorder? Is it any wonder that our girls make such
bad choices?
Climbing down from my soapbox now.
