vocabulary for a shy person

big_brenda...@hotmail.com
I'm a quiet crossdresser who would like to expand my wardrobe. Up to
now I've bought shirts and pullovers in solid colors of conservative
cut, things I can plausably wear in public without attracting
attention. I generally look at practical clothes (not dressy) but I've
never seen myself (mentally) as looking good in prints, until now.
Recently I bought a couple of "classic fit" blouses (or shirts) at
Avenue that fit me perfectly and look so nice..small flower patterms.
These were off the cleaance rack, where I usually look, but as I was
paying I asked if they had anything else with that cut and was told
just what I'd bought. What's a "classic fit" anyway?
I realized I needed to fix a definition of this "fit" in my mind by
learning about various cuts of blouses––in other words, to build up my
vocabulary. The extra vertical tuck under the breasts, what's if
called? I went Googling and couldn't find a thing.
Can anybody help me with a couple of links on basic design so next time
I'll know what I'm asking for?
Thanks
Brenda

The term for those vertical tucks are "darts".
There is http://www.thefashionspot.com, lots of fashion forums there and
member pictures to guide you... I think the Personal Style forum is a good
place to start.
