Has anyone heard of tramatic pseudofolliculitis being caused by the
turning in of the skin at the site of a surgical scar? Cosmetic
surgery under the chin, 15 years ago appears to be the source of
numerous, traveling hairs dispite the denials of the surgeon who
insists that it's simply "cistic acne." Exploding on to the scene
about 5 years ago it has, indeed, caused me severe trauma. In the last
5 years it seems that I've extracted miles of hair from the sight and
indured daily exposure of "hamburger chin." There are no exposed pores
to the folicle for an electrologist to access. The "leading"
dermatoligist said it was too traumatized to treat (?????!) and until
recently, three years of lasar treatments produced minimal results. In
the last 6 months better lasar technology seemed to be helping but not
eradicating so about 3 months ago I increased the lasar teatment to
once a week. Holy crap! it started expelling white hairs, black hairs
and even red hairs at such an excelerated speed I could open a tiny
kingdom, gift wrap service! New hair expulsion outbreaks are occuring
up to 3" from the trauma center below the scar. Worse than it was
before, can I possibly believe that the roots of the insidious culprits
may now be being destroyed? And regarding yet more hope; what about
this new topical ointment; Vaqniqa?" Hair and hope reign eternal.
