Rayon and/or sewing question

"cofarb" <do...@cofarb.com>
As I'm going through clothes to ebay, I've come across some older rayon
items––dresses, blazers––that have sort of sagged or otherwise stretched (or
perhaps shrunken?) out of shape.
I know that a lot of rayon is ruined if it gets wet, but I don't think these
things were ever washed. (They're not *that* ruined.) The saddest ones are
sagging along parts of the hemlines, so the hems look crooked or uneven. Is
this something a seamstress can fix easily? Has anyone here done this or
had it done by a pro?
Does this problem happen just from hanging on hangers, or did I miss the
problem when the clothes arrived from ebayers? Maybe I caused it by
pressing out wrinkles?
SadFarb
p.s. I'm selling some of my stuff, and I'm planning to list new things
daily until my wardrobe is a reasonable size...which will take approximately
forever. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZcofarbQQhtZ–1

Wow, you have been doing a lot of work. Those red plaid maryjanes are
adorable. I have never found a way to get sagging rayon back in shape
but try to google a few sites to see if there is any help for them.

Thanks, Audrey. I'll have time to google the rayon issue because my
lucky–I–haven't–killed–her deaf cat knocked my digital camera off the
counter, destroying it. I can google for rayon repair *and* recipes for
preparing cat!
I'll make a full report if I discover anything helpful about the rayon
thing. Sometimes it "torques" out of alignment completely, but other times
it seems as if the sagging is relatively minor. Of course, I know nothing
about sewing so it might as well be brain surgery.

cofarb,
I do very well on handling most materials myself – hand cleaning and
sewing – and rayon is one material I don't have fully figured out yet. How
it will react at any given time is unreliable and foreign to me. It is a
material that (mostly) I will allow to go to the dry cleaner's. That said,
once it torques and loses shape, I don't think anything may be done for it.
I'll be interested to see if you come up with anything.
