Anyone have cute flats rec's?

"Mouse" <labmous...@hotmail.com>
Hi everyone –
I've been looking for a cute pair of flats that I can wear with
skirts, and maybe some jeans (not the ones with stretch, though, then
it just looks weird). I went to Nordstrom's today and bought some, but
now that I'm home with them, I think I made a mistake and will return
them (thankfully I haven't worn them at all). I was thinking about
getting some cute flats from Nicole in the "Dazed" style. Has anyone
tried these and liked them? I want to get the "Dazed" ones in gold, but
I'm nervous that they'll look like my late grandmother's metallic gold
orthopedic walking shoes, LOL. On the website they look more like a tan
color. Here's the link:

Does anyone here know what they look like (as far as color goes) in
person? They're the only flats I've found so far that are in my price
range, are closed–toe leather flats that are cute and look like they
would go with most of my skirts/dresses for spring/summer, and some of
my Levis. I just don't want to buy them online, have them shipped and
then find out I made another boo–boo.

Orthopedic? No, though they could have done without the little holes.
I think they are cute. There are so many cute flats now. Delman is the
king of flats but every other shoe company is making them too. Brooks
Brothers has a spectator style flat pictured in the latest T&C. There
was a cute J Crew one in another magazine.
Leigh Melton <le...@nbi.com>
I ordered two pairs of flats from Talbots the other day.
Floral flats

Pink with green polka dots!

I want to point out again that most of my color comes from
accessories, I promise I won't be wearing these with striped pants and
a Day–Glo color shirt. :)

Funny you should mention this, because I was just ogling some Delman flats
on sale at Zappo's for incredible prices (at least five were showing up
under $100). The sizes are limited, but it's worth a check for shoes at
something close to 80% off. The shoes didn't show up on a search of sale
merchandise when I tried it. To find them, go to Zappo's Couture, search
Delman and sort by price. Good luck!

You are such a wonderful enabler! Flats take time to get used to and
for those having a hard time getting them to fit, try a shoe insert such
as Dr. Scholl's. Some are made of very soft leather so they tend to
stretch out of shape. Off to look at Zappos couure...

I also like the Befit by Etienne Aigner (looks a little like the Dazed,
only without the metallic finish):

The Nu Florin by Royal Elastics is a slightly more preppy/sporty
version and I personally think it looks great with cropped pants or a
white skirt

I have this pair by Trotters; it's definately more feminine, if that's
what you're looking for (and basic black, so it goes with pretty much
everything I have). I think they're incredibly comfortable. It's on
sale too!

Good luck with your search!
