This was originally a response to the "what nail polish are you
wearing?" thread:
In the past week, on both fingers and toes:
OPI Peru–Ruby
OPI Purple with a Purpose
Prorance (Japanese brand) #413, which is a metallic deep blue
No, it's not that I can't make up my mind. I've been laid up for a
week now because of some surgery I had last Thursday. I'm recovering,
but I have only been able to leave the house twice in the past seven
days, and those times were for trips that lasted less than an hour. My
surgery was in the abdomen, which means that I haven't been able to
walk all that much, and I haven't been able to eat much more than soft
foods and clear liquids...but I *can* sit and post to Usenet (50–odd
posts in the past five days!) and I *can* primp, polish, and pluck.
This week, my husband has teased me when he gets home from work: "What
have you done to yourself today?" On Tuesday, I reshaped my eyebrows.
Yesterday, I put golden highlights in my blonde hair and changed my
nail polish. On Monday, I did my fingers and toes, bleached my teeth,
and wore Shalimar all day to get myself used to it (Christmas present
from husband, and I am not sure that I like it, but he LOVES it.) I
also realized that I need to get more sleep in my everyday life. I've
been sleeping much more than usual due to the exhaustion that comes
after surgery, and although I may feel lousy, my complexion is radiant!
I've even taught myself to apply nail art to my big toes.
I'll let everyone know if I win the Most Glamourous Patient Receiving
Painful Surgery contest at my follow–up check–up next week! They'll
have to push my wheelchair through the throngs of paparazzi, I'm sure.
:–)
