Faux Cils

wendyandbr...@webtv.net (Wendy)
Could anyone give me advice on false lashes? Any particular ones I
should buy? I like ones that provide overall thickness, not just a
graduation to a superlong length at the outer corner.
Are self–adhesive or glue–on better? How long should a good pair last?
I'd like some that look at last a 'little' natural, I don't want to look
like a Las Vegas showgirl.

well Faux Cils happens to be the name of YSL's famous lash thickening
mascara that makes you look like you have false lashes.
You can get Andrea, Ardell, Pout and Longo lashes that have small tiny
lashes. Even Valerie Beverly Hills has some great lashes that would work
well in strips or tiny clumps to give you that starry eyed look.
trim the strips.. work on the outside third of your eye, use invisible glue

I just use the ones by Andrea. I usually use #53 but I cut some of the inner
corner off so that they start in the middle of my eye. I think it helps
camoflauge the fact that I'm wearing falsies and gives more of a demi–effect
at the same time. I glue them over lashes that already have a lot of black
mascara on them. I soak them in mild shampoo after use to get the glue off.
I usually get about 3 wears out of them before they lose their shape.

Thanks, Stevie. I'll have to check out those brands. I am also going to
look at some Shu falsies too. I have heard of the YSL mascara (haven't
tried it) but I was just throwing some French out there. : )

Thanks Miss Livvy. I hadn't thought of shampooing them. Where do you
wear your faux cils? During they day? Are they appropriate anywhere,
anytime?

I do a lot of social dancing at night, so that's when I usually wear them. I
keep my make up much lighter during the day, so I don't wear them during
day. If I were still in my 20s, well then I'd probably wear them during the
day once in a while.

I used to wear them daily but eventually the glue takes its toll on
your own lashes..
