My L'Oreal H.I.P. review

I finally found the L'Oreal H.I.P. (High Intensity Pigments) line after
keeping an eye out for it this past month or so. It was at a dingy old
Walgreen's (surprisingly not at the big new fancy CVS nearby with a large
cosmetics department). I had my impatient daughter with me, so I couldn't
browse the line too thoroughly. The display had testers, which for sanitary
purposes I applied only to my hand.
I bought an eyeshadow duo called "Foxy," which is a neutral pink/beige with
a chocolate brown. This is a really nice shadow for me (I'm a brunette with
green eyes). The saturation is nice, and what I love most is that, unlike
almost all lower–end eyeshadows I've tried, it doesn't dust off onto my
cheekbones when I'm applying it. The compact includes a little sponge
applicator and small mirror; while I usually use brushes to apply eyeshadow,
I probably won't use it, but I thought this was nice to include.
I also bought a lipstick called "Moxie." It was the lightest shade of the
bunch. The tester went on my hand a bit sheer, so I was surprised when I
applied the actual product that it was rather opaque. I still like it, and
it's a really good everyday shade for me (a perfect my–lips–but–better shade
on me). It works well with my beloved Prestige Angora pencil. It's very
creamy and, while I wouldn't call it a frost, it definitely has a bit of a
metallic shimmer to it. I think it smells great, too –– kind of a vanilla
cookie scent to it.
All in all, I'm really pleased with these two. The formulas are nice, and
the colors I picked work well on me. I probably won't try the other shades
in the line, though, as they seem too intense for what I like to wear.

This is exactly what I thought when I purchased Moxie a few weeks ago.
Reminds me that I need to pull it out and wear it some more.

I have been eyeing Foxy and now I'll definitely have to try it! I am
also a green eyed brunette. I am also going to take a look at Moxie. The
only product I have tried so far is a tube of their lipgloss called
Adoring. Very lovely color, it doesn't dry out my lips, stays on and
fades well. Nice butterscotch–y taste but not overpowering. I see nearly
all makeup lines are saying lots of bright color for spring but really,
who can pull off BRIGHT blue eyeshadow with bright red lipstick (as is
shown on the models on the HIP display)?

I tried the Moxie on my hand but it looked so pink. I'm looking for
more of a neutral berry (think Stila Luce – berry but not so
pinky–cool), and there was one that began with a V (Vivacious?) that
more fit what I wanted. The Moxie was pretty but I don't need another
pink.
I ended up not buying either one because we need to pay off some
things, maybe when we get our tax return I can do a bit of shopping.

Thanks for the review! I was wondering what other people thought of
this line.

When the H.I.P line appeared at Harmon about a month ago I was curious
but didn't see anything that called my name. Maybe I'll take another
look next time I'm there now that some folks are pleased with it.
