I'm with you. The only thing I say 'never' to is people that say 'never'!
I govern my own style (painful though it may be) and refuse to be put off
things that look great on me or give me preverse enjoyment to wear!

I'm watching Glamour's 50 Dos & Don'ts on the Style network––and I disagree
with some of the DON'Ts. The one that inspired me to post this was: No
colored hose. Then they showed a variety of legs, some from runway shows,
some from the street, clad in colorful hose. I *love* colorful
tights––whole legs' worth or just a bit between boot and hemline. Michael
Kors was one of the fashion nazis declaring "never" to colored tights, but I
could swear that he has featured colorful opaque tights in fairly recent
runway shows.
They also dissed any/all lace on clothes, saying it only belongs on
tablecloths.
(I howled when I saw the part in which Paris Hilton's mother decries "too
much bling"!)

Yeah, I remember seeing that a few weeks back. And I remember disagreeing
