What I Bought Today

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
There is no better reason than Valentine's Day to go shopping. I went
to the mall after work and my first stop was Sephora. I bought their
last bottle of the Dior 60/80 capture wrinkle cream for the eyes as well
as a new Tarte gloss, sloan and farris. They are shimmery pinks, pretty
for summer. I then went to Macys with a gift certificate in hand. My
first stop there was MAC where I bought the Mauro lip gloss. I looked
at the Bobbi Brown shimmerbricks but will hold out for the peony, a
coral toned product. I went up to clothing and picked out one Dana
Buchman outfit to try and then purchase. The top is silk/nylon stretch
in poppy red, which looks like paprika to me. The skirt is silk, and
Italian fabric and is black, gray and the red with a wide waistband,
stitched down pleats and fuller at the bottom. I can't find a link to
it.

TJ Maxx:they just received a big shipment of Ralph Lauren clothing. I
bought:
Turquoise polo shirt for BF. He thinks turquoise is a girl color, but I
bought it anyway.
Melon cashmere cable sweater for me. I'm SHOCKED at how flattering the
color looks on me. Who would have thought orange could look so good...

Greatest opening line ever.
Yesterday was the first day in a week that I could leave the house for
any length of time, following my surgery. I went to Costco and blew
$100 on essentials; we were out of everything! I also went to BBW and
got some of that yummy Japanese Cotton Blossom lotion. I went to
Target and scored some Ginger Sugar scrub by Booth's, a chubby eye
pencil called Metallic FX by Maybelline (in green, I am not so sure
that I like it), two tubes of Max Factor 2000 Calorie in Rich Black
with the curved brush (a classic, and I like the new packaging), and a
Vidal Sassoon wavy–iron that makes the most amazing, full waves in your
hair. Oh, and some Choxie stuff. Their malted milk balls are the
best.
Good thread!

How about....Since you didn't get what you really wanted for Valentine's
Day, you obviously need to shop this weekend. I mean how would my
husband possibly know I want the Stila rain and shine palette in the
warm colors or a new Stila lipstick?
You bought some nice things. The ginger sugar scrub sounds good.

He wouldn't, and if you really think about it, you are actually
providing a valuable service for him! I know, because that shipment
from Victoria's Secret early last week was MY husband's way of telling
me, "Happy Valentine's Day!" It's just that he doesn't know it. :–)

Some retail therapy was in order today, and I ended up with:
Petite black trench/macintosh jacket from Ann Taylor Loft – I finally
found one that fits well, has nice trench detailing, looks good without
the belt and isn't stiff – Eureka!
black 3/4 sleeve button–down stretch shirt from BR
9West black leather open toe high–heel (narrow) wedge shoes
Aerosoles black leather high–heel t–strap sandals
GAP black and grey stretch drawstring pants for working out; and
my first cosmetic purchase in quite some time . . .
MAC "Plumful" Lustre lipstick (It has the texture of Clinique
buttershine lipstick. I have the crushed grape in the Clinique and
love it but am not thrilled with the other color choices.)
MAC – "A Rose" Lustre Lipstick (This is such a pretty color for spring.
I treated myself to the matching nail polish, which will look great on
the toes.)
