What are *you* wearing TONIGHT (v–day)?

"Nanm" <morris....@gmail.com>
I bought a pink and red Betsey Johnson dress for the ocassion, but
never got it to the dressmaker, and I am awfully short–waisted, and it
bunches up. I'll wear it another time.
In lieu, I am still not 100% sure, but I have a deep red velvet
short–sleeved jacket. I may wear it with a white with black velvet
flowers Trina Turk skirt and black boots, but not sure what underneath.
I may wear the jacket with a striped knit halter–style top that is
long, like mid–thigh over some pants with a subtle plaid that is in the
same color scheme as the striped top. Very Oilily looking. We'll see.

Sounds like you are going someplace special! Have fun! (I'm a huge Betsey
Johnson fan, so I hope you get an excuse to wear that dress after it is
altered. Would the red velvet jacket look good over the Betsey dress?)
I'm not going anywhere but I may acknowledge the "holiday" by wearing a
black sweater that has sherbet–y argyle sleeves and a few matching
heart–shaped argyles (for lack of a better description) scattered on the
front. I have some super–comfy J.Crew p.j./sweat pants in a faded tangerine
color that matches one of the colors in the sweater. Sounds ghastly, huh?
And two pairs of socks.
Happy Valentine's Day from the tundra!

A late 80s acrylic sweater with many brightly colored appliques–– a
special sweater for me as it is amazing that it's still wearable, and
it is the very first birthday gift my husband ever bought for me (we've
been together nearly 20 years!).
Happy Valentine's Day,
Alicia U.

For a Valentine's Day dinner at Ed's Easy Diner in Chelsea...
pale lavendar cashmere turtleneck
lavendar print scarf/turban
hairpiece (long curly and blonde)
long black skirt
purple/black striped tights
black lace up boots from birkenstock
long silvery necklace with different colored purple glass stones
I'm so homesick for the States we skipped the posh restaurants and ate
a diner instead...

Sorry you are missing US so much, Maurey. Your outfit sounds great. (I had
to google for Birkenstock boots––I'm only familiar with the sandals and
clogs.) Maybe it's the sign of a true a.f.er to wear funky tights even if
no one else is going to see them. (I'm assuming your skirt and boots pretty
much obscured the view of the tights.)
As my mom would say, "I hope you had dessert!"

That sounds really cute, I'd love to see it.
For V–Day tonight I am wearing my favorite pajamas –– pink stretch lace top
and pants by Wendy Glez. I really love all of her PJs but the prices are
kind of ridiculous, so I wait for a sample sale and so far I've had great
luck. When I bought these PJs, Wendy herself sold them to me, cool. Anyway
we celebrated V–Day on Sunday with a nice dinner out at the Lodge Steakhouse
(the boyfriend had a cocktail that cost $45, sheesh!), and I wore James
Jeans, Palladium boots, and an old gold stretch lace top. Tonight we're
just watching American Idol.
