Leaving soon for a Super Bowl get together.
Definitely rooting for the STEELERS as I have a copy of a letter dated
March 1, 1940 with Arthur J. Rooney, President of the Pittsburgh
Pirates saying: "referring to our contest of changing the name of
our
professional football club, it gives me great pleasure to inform you
that your suggestion of "The Pittsburgh Steelers" has been among the
winners of this contest." The letter was sent to my dad who resided
in
Pennsylvania..my dad was a teenager at this time.
This makes me so proud every time I get the letter out and read it.
