Beauty Tips for the Day

"Salon de Maria" <salondema...@yahoo.com>
Happy 2006!
The cold weather is upon us and I know we're all trying to keep our
skin nourished. I turned on the news this morning and the Beauty
Editor of Redbook Magazine was on giving tips to rehydrate your skin
this winter:
– Use maternity lotions. These lotions are very rich and creamy :)
– Hydrate from the inside out. Eat foods rich in Vitamen E
– Eat food with high moisture content such as fruits and vegetables
– Instead of pouring bath oil in the water, put the bath oil on your
skin first before getting in the water
– Use a humidifier
Any special products that you use?

My all–time favorite is shea butter. Sally Hansen 18 hour hand creme
has it. B&BW also has their own shea butter line, but you can go to
the drugstore and get Palmers or Tree Hut products very inexpensively.
Palmers has a great lip balm with shea butter in it....great for
preventing chapped lips.

– Use a humidifier
I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and wow, what a difference!
The humidity here has been very low and I found I wasn't sleeping as
well at night. After using the humidifier in the bedroom I'm sleeping
much better and am not having the little peeling parts on my cheeks
that sometime bother me in winter no matter what moisturizer I use.
The instruction manual says to use "clean water" but I'm wondering if
it would be okay to add a spash of lavender water to it? That's not
oily or anything which could clog it (or at least I don't think so).

A few weeks ago my gym had an open house. Women owned business set up
their booths and sold their wares. There was one table that was
getting a lot of action. It was the Arbonne table. In the bathroom
they had a tub of salt scrub for everyone to try. My hands were
looking like cracked leather so I decided to try it. Awaken Sea Salt
Scrub has a lemony sent to it. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to
like it. This scrub contains a couple of different oils, Sweet Almond,
Safflower, Avocado to name a few. I didn't care too much for the scent
and it seemed very oily. I went ahead an applied the scrub. After a
few minutes of scrubbing, I rinsed my hands. When my skin had dried I
noticed my hands did not feel oily, in fact they were super soft and
younger looking! As the hours went by, the lemony smell faded into
something very pleasant. I bought a tub for $28 dollars. The softness
lasts for days and my manicurist said my hands looked like a young
girl! I even got my brother to try it on his hands. He had to admit
it worked.
I have now added this to the regular winter skin routine.

I've heard of Arbonne... Did you use a lotion in addition to the scrub
or is the scrub enough?

At first they didn't have the lotion out, later on they did. The scrub
was enough to get the super results.

Actually, you can do it yourself, and avoid the risk of having it
lost. Try the following links:

I haven't personally used the system, but I have heard that they work
well.
