a too–warm coat

Lutach...@aol.com
Since I am frequently too cold, I thought that there could not be a
coat too–warm for me, but I was wrong. Recently I tried on a North Face
Arctic Parka and it was so warm I thought I might burn up and die. It
does not have more down than any other coat, but all the seams are
sealed and it is totally water and windproof.

You could always move north!
Actually, I do understand that a coat could be too warm even though it gets
very cold where I live. I have a short shearling that I probably wouldn't
wear in temps above 15 degrees (f). And also a layered "system" with
polarfleece and a couple windproof, water–resistant layers. I wear the
latter for snow–shoeing, and long bouts of shoveling. (Don't ya feel like
moving north now?<g>)

I have a comforter like that. Even when I think I'm as cold as I can get,
that thing burns me up just a short time after cuddling up under it. And of
course, living in Southern California, I really don't need a burning hot
blanket. But, I love the thing and it's soooooo soft. So it's staying.
Maybe one day I'll move somewhere cold.
