as i said earlier, i picked up my package yesterday. i was
running errands, so i put it in the trunk, and went about my
business trying to find a store that had egg nog (Costco was
completely out), and one HEB store i went to only had 1 quart of
the Promised Land egg nog left. i ended up going to Central
Market for three more quarts of the PL egg nog, and also bought
two quarts of Southern Comfort brand Vanilla Spice egg nog
(nonalcoholic). has anyone else tried this stuff? it's
amazing! and all of my family agreed that it tastes like my
greatgreataunt's custard (she died 13 years ago, so we haven't
had any for a while).
anyway, got home, got settled, and opened the package. there
were actually two wrapped presents in the box. one was a
paperback edition of David Sedaris' _Holidays_On_Ice_. has
anyone read this book? i think i read it a few years ago, but i
can't remember. that's the thing about getting older, i can
sometimes not remember if i've read a particular book, or seen a
certain movie; but i digress. the other wrapped bundle turned
out to be a...a um, what do you call this thing? it's sorta like
a dop kit? not sure, but it contained several little bottles
(which turned out to be different types of Molton Brown body wash
and toner they all smell divine, especially the templetree
scented one), and one toothbrush. the toothbrush was likely
included so i could brush my teeth after eating the artisanmade
candy cane that was also included in the package. lastly, there
were two little bags of ground coffee which were "Mackinac Island
Fudge" flavoured. if anyone's interested in reading about
Mackinac Island, please click the following link:

Becky really came thru for me. it's been hectic at work lately.
for the last few weeks i've been working seven days in a row
before getting a day off, and it's really getting on my nerves.
i really needed a pickmeup, and these gifts were perfect!
