Question about getting a price discount on item already purchased?

zcare...@yahoo.com
Hey everyone,
I purchased a emeril frying pan at a store for like $32 bucks last
week. There is already an ad that it will go on sale for like $18 bucks
the day after Christmas. Can i take it back after Christmas and ask to
get a price adjustment? Or should i just get to the store early the day
after Christmas to buy another pan and then eventually return the
original pan later on. I am afraid that if i return the pan tomorrow,
it might run out of stock on the day after Christmas when many people
are rushing to the store to take advantage of the sales. It has never
been used or opened from the box.
Let me know what strategy has worked for you. Thanks.

Not sure about the policy of the particular store you got it from, but most
major department stores will just do the price adjustment as long as you've
purchased it within whatever time limit you would have had to return the
item in the first place.

Macy's only gives adjustments for 10 days.

I've had this happen to me. Most major retailers have some sort of
policy about this. Under normal circumstances (this being Christmas
Eve isn't a normal shopping day), you could call the store first and
find out before making the trip down there, what their policy is
regarding items that go on sale after purchase. Whatever happens, I
hope you get the discount. Any retailer who wants to keep their
customers happy will do the right thing! Happy Holidays!
