Bad customer service at Sephora

arian...@gmail.com
Anyone else noticed a huge change in the customer service at
Sephora.com? I'm growing wary of shopping at this site. Lately they
have been refusing to credit returns or adjust bad shipments. I
understand the return issue is controversial, but Sephora has a
guaranteed return policy. I have returned some shipments but I also
shop at Sephora.com a great deal. If this continues I'll take my
business elsewhere. They are not the only high end cosmetics site on
the net.

I hadn't ordered from them in awhile until yesterday. Fortunately I ordered
Christmas gifts that I know I won't be returning. But I'd definitely be
interested in whether or not they are abiding by their return policy.
I've only had to return one item to them – that darn Philosophy Vanilla
Cupcake and they took it back freely.
How do you know when they won't accept something back? When I received my
shipment, it already had the return slip in it, which I kept and filled it
out when I determined that the product smelled like plastic. How do you
know? Do they call you?

Jamie –– I'd like to hear more information from the OP before I gave
any credence to her claims –– what condition were the items in when
returned? how long after purchase were they returned? what did
Sephora say? how often, and how many items, has she returned?
In the meantime, hope your giftees enjoy whatever you ordered.

I ordered a palette from them that arrived with one of the blushes
shattered. When I called customer service they apologized profusely and
replaced the palette immediately with extras and free shipping and the
whole nine yards. Maybe you got a rep who was having a bad day?

I'm surprised to hear that! : ( I was just thinking the other day how
extraordinary the CS reps. I have dealt with at Sephora are. Everyone I
have dealt with there has been REALLY, really polite.
(to a different poster) And how exactly is their return policy
controversial? I don't get it.....?

Wendy, I'm not that poster, but I think the controversial aspect has to do
with whether you should really return things that are used and can't be
resold without giving it a thought just because Sephora will let you do it.

Smokey, thanks, now I got it. The abuse of their return policy is what's
controversial.

I moved to Florida last year and there is not a sephora near me, I shop
on line all the time and return items with no problem at all. I think
they have excellent on line service.

Barbara,
I know they will – I bought 4 bottles of trusty Philosophy Cinnamon Bun body
wash!
I wish I'd bought one for myself!
