Good gifts I've found lately....

"caryper...@aol.com" <caryperk39@aol.com>
I've done some shopping in B&M stores lately – I seem to order a lot
online, but for all those people who I want a fun little something for,
I head to the mall. I've found some great stuff this year!
Pottery Barn has beautiful red star–shaped bowls, perfect for holiday
candy, dips, etc. for $10 and great spreaders with big red & green
glass beaded handles $12/pair. This combo worked for several friends'
gifts...
There's a large white star shaped bowl that would be gorgeous with
green salad & red cranberries! I've added it to my list!
Pottery Barn had a gorgeous hammered silver bowl – salad or serving
sized – for $35 that a friend saw at full price ($50) and thought it
too extravagant, but I got it on sale!
Their CD's (and the spanish guitar ones at Brookstone or Sharper Image)
at $15 are great gifts for almost everyone.
Bath & Body Works has a great, huge brown fur bag filled with scented
goodies – at $49 it's not a steal, but the bag is great for the winter
and the brown sugar/fig products smell awesome.
Brookstone has a little speaker that plugs into the top of ipods for
$35. Did you ever just want to share a song or sit the pod on the car
seat next to you without all the other contraptions? I bought these
for everybody! They even have a little pillow that's connects to pods
so you can rest with the music softly playing next to your ear. $35
The hot ticket in our house is a football one – to the Holiday Bowl.
Scored those a while back and at $48 each, they're like gold.
Have you seen The Book of Cool? A perfect young man/mature boy gift!
(thebookof cool.com) around $40
Juicy earrings (big hoops with cute little charms) for $55 are going to
a few young ladies on our list, as our jeweled business card cases
(used for carrying your ID and some $ to the clubs) fleursdefrance.com
$20.
Middle son's girlfriend is getting a hotel silver champagne bucket in a
desk size – filled with great sparkly & mirrored pens from Target's $1
bin – to go with her champagne & strawberries birthday party. $14
Pottery Barn
Call me Oprah. I've discovered great stuff this year!

If you are looking for a new cd with really pretty sonds, check out You're Beautiful
by James Blunt. I saw him on SNL a few weeks ago. I love the cd.

As usual, Audrey has great taste, I hardly ever watch SNL but I caught this
and was captivated.

You're better than Oprah. At least I can afford to buy your stuff.

Great ideas!
My best gift discovery this season was online. I found this website called
http://www.mrsite.co.uk/ For a flat fee it pretty much sets you up with a
customizable website including a website name (blahblah.com) and an email
address. Picture galleries come out so nice! I got one for myself before
giving them away (to make sure they weren't more complicated than they
seem), and I love it!
You can check out my results (I'm just getting started with it) here:
www.amioami.com
This has been the most awesome find for my gift giving this year. Except for
the fact I could never find the place to put a gift message in, it's perfect
for people(families) who exchange pictures or want to have a website but are
afraid. It's probably too late to order the boxed ones, but the email ones
come instantly!
Of course I don't work for this company, I just am pretty psyched on this.

Kudos to all for such great gift ideas!!
I am new to this group and was looking for some gift ideas for my
boyfriend. What do you get for the man who has everything? He is more
on the conservative side and clothes are out of the question. He
practically owns everything from BR!
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)

Does he have favorite alcoholic beverages? My husband is like a kid in
a candy store this time of the year because so many people give him
wonderful bottles of wine. The CS people gave him a flash drive and
gift certificate to a new restaurant. Does he play computer games or
have hobbies? Books and magazine subscriptions are great. Can you get
tickets for a special event he would want to attend? It doesn't have to
be something totally unusual. My guys look forward to their "annual"
gifts.

My closest guy friend has everything he needs, has no hobbies, works
all the time, doesn't drink, isn't into cooking, and lives like a
bachelor to the extreme. After 8 Christmases I had NO IDEA what to
get him. I have gotten him so many shirts and boxer shorts over the
years it is BORING. Well, this morning he called me to tell me that
his naughty dog jumped up and bit him on the shoulder and, in the
process, ripped his favorite Ralph Lauren shirt. So, now I get to
replace the shirt. I bought it in the first place, so I know exactly
what to look for.
Of course...the Crazy dog couldn't have ripped one of the Carhardt
work shirts...she had to eat the $80 one.

I found the best throws at of all places – Lazy Boy! I've looked at
Neiman's, Macy's, Nordstroms, Saks, Dillards, Pottery Barn and many
others. Lazy Boy has "Kennebunk Home" throws:
http://www.kennebunkhome.com/
I don't know if all Lazy Boys have these, but they are great – large
size will cover you from neck to feet with ample room left over,
beautiful colors and weight plus great fringe – nothing is skimpy.
The one I got was priced at $66, but Lazy Boy had them for 20% off.
They also have some extremely tawdry Todd Oldham throws – don't even
bother with those. Kennebunk Home may be sold other places also, but I
couldn't determine where on their website.

Thanks for the link. I've never gone into our Lazy Boy store. It's in
an inconvenient location so I just never think to see if they have
different things.

recommendation!
