Interior design stores and landscape nursery stores often have beautiful
items such as vases, potted plants etc. I go to the local boutiques and
avoid the mall except on Monday or Tuesday, the slowest days of the
week. I'm not allergic to crowds; I consider myself a smart shopper.
Darling gifts can be found in many places including the grocery and drug
stores.

Audrey, I was just thinking of how a Safeway near my office has been a
surprisingly great gift source for all of the people in my life. I
stop in before work anyway for my latte and have worked shopping in
when I'm running early. Mom recently complained that she was losing
gloves all the time. The next morning I found a variety of cute hats
and gloves at Safeway and picked her up a pair of black polarfleece
with leopard cuffs and a pair of faux shearling. I found an oversized
stuffed "beanbag" dog for DD last Valentine's Day and she sleeps on
her. I get teas and gourmet food for DH. They had a super cute
fireplace screen with a santa motif and one with a snowman motif. Next
on my list are stocking stuffers cherry Hershey's kisses for DH who
went nuts over them recently (lemming candy item!) and Hershey's
Nuggets for Mom. I'll put them into fun packages of some sort that fit
into the stockings.
The local CVS has some great finds including portable DVD players,
toys, and decorations.
I am the poster child for being super allergic to crowds, lines and
duking it out in the parking lot. HTH Stevie,
