I've got hair (or, how to buy and pay for a hairstyle)

"MaureyL" <Maur...@aol.com>
I went today for my "hair replacement device..." read, a state– of
–the– art wig that costs over =A31000. But it does look totally real.
The front is done with delicate lace that disappears totally into your
hairline, so there's no "wig band" to deal with. I'm especially happy
with the color, a light golden wheat with subtle lighter highlights all
over––really flattering. It's quite a lot of hair and each section had
to be hand tonged so the effect is a lot like my hair but a bit bigger.
You wouldn't know! And it's very comfortable to wear, no itch or
tightness around my head at all. They are really good with customer
service... I can come back as often as I like and for =A320 they will
remove it, wash it and restyle. I've already booked in for a
"regroom" on Christmas Eve! Many clients wear it day and night, sleep
in it, wash it as their own hair etc but I've going to take it off each
evening to preserve the style––god knows that I'd never be able to curl
each individual section! You can pull the hair right back from the
hairline and it looks just like your own hair. I'm a bit nervous with
the removal, attachment process, as it's held in place with medical
adhesive which must be applied and removed really carefully as to
preserve the lace frontpiece. But I'm sure as an alt.fashion gal, I'll
figure it out. Now if only my eyelashes would grow in!!

It sounds wonderful, Maurey. It's great that there is something out there
that can make such a difference to people who are going through such a
difficult time.
Have you found the perfect eyeliner to make you not worry too much about the
lash issue? If so, please share. (If not, it's time to ask a.f.ers for
recs.)
You really are an inspiration, you know.

I really am lining my eyes just the same way as before, really. I use
a black line right down on the edge of my lid (not underneath, though,
my eyes are tearing and sensitive right now so that would never work)
and then go over it with a pencil liner to soften and blend the line.
I really really like the cream liner from the Tarte Siren palette for
this. i use a lovely small stiff brush from Screenface for the cream
liner. But I still can't wait until my lashes grow back...
