gifts for the 13 year old girl

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
These are suggestions from my 21 year old girly girl:
Dear Mom,
It really depends on what this girl is into but below are some ideas of
what the aunt can give:
Shimmery light pink (lip colored) lip gloss from Bonne Belle or Loreal
or another drugstore brand. – Give this gift with something else
Sephora oversized tube lip glosses. This can go with another gift as
well but it is a little more 'cool' than bonne belle. They come in great
nude colors and are super shimmery. (about $12)
Other makeup ideas include BeneFit HiBeam for the cheeks, BeneFit Kitten
powders, Stilla eyeshadow quad case with a note saying you will fill it
with four colors she likes or you can put four of their best (yet also
neutral) colors in it, or Mac Lip gloss in Purr (it's what Paris Hilton
wears)
Cute packaged bath products in a grown up scent like the Philosophy
Melon Daquri 3 in 1 (body wash, shampoo, bubble bath – Laura got it for
me one year and it smells great). There are other brands as well but
this "grown up" scent that is really just fruity is something that she
may like.
Some of the Gossip Girl books. I read one and it was too low of a
reading level for me last year but she may like it because it is about
rich highschoolers from New York City. High School is probably on her
mind as a really cool thing so she may love these books. Giving two
books plus a lip gloss could make the aunt awesome.
DVD of any favorite show such as 'The OC', 'One Tree Hill', or anthing
else like that.
One year subscription to Seventeen, CosmoGirl, ElleGirl, TeenVogue, or
another teen related magazine if she does not already subscribe.
If the girl is super trendy Jucy has a $45 necklace that is like a charm
necklace. Some of my friends have it and it is cute and like something
you'll see on the OC girls or Sienna Miller. It's LA–Bohemian.
If the girl has an i–pod Neimans makes earphones that have crystals on
them. Also about $45 and they come in pink, clear, and blue I think.
Since the girl lives in the bay area ... only if the aunt can find a
cute one ... she should look for a sparkley scarf to give with maybe a
makeup item. But the scarf has to be nice–looking and not something that
is too teenybopper–ish.
A nice looking yet inexpensive clutch could also be a good gift. If the
aunt is able to get some type of theater ticket to put inside that could
make it even more memorable.
I have to get back to studying but I hope these ideas help. Pretty much
at 13 she thinks high school is really cool so anything oriented towards
that (magazines, books etc.) will be a great gift. The aunt should not
think of 13 as "young" even though it is, because even if the aunt has
not seen the niece since she was 5 the girl does not see herself as
"young". The aunt should try and validate this by getting her more
"grown up" gifts. Personally if I were this girl I would like the
TeenVogue and Sephora lip gloss. TeenVogue is by far the coolest teen
magazine out there and it is geared towards teens who (like my sister
and I at that age) know about fashion outside of what is in the mall.
The aunt can give the December issue with the lip gloss or other makeup
item and a not saying that there is a year subscription. But also the
Gossip Girl books would be cool but it just depends if the girl likes to
read. But if the girl is a little Jewish American Princess then the
necklace or ear phones are much more Paris Hilton Hot.

I knew she would have a few ideas.
