Bridesmaid's shoe delima...

"Sher" <sherrysbouti...@gmail.com>
Okay, ... here's the deal; I've finally picked the dress for them (it
took me months), and they are tea length. I'm trying to decide on
shoes... should I have the girls choose their own, or should I choose
the style for them....any suggesions. ?
Here is a link to the dress (color is confetti)

Thanks

Wait a darned minute – you opted for a bridesmaid's dress that's not
only pretty but rewearable? Is that even legal? Seriously, it's lovely.
I'd suggest you choose two or three pairs you'd like and let them make
the final selection.

I thought the whole purpose of weddings was for women to force their
friends to wear ugly, unflattering, and one–wearing–only dresses in front
of everyone they knew. The original poster is clearly a troll. This dress
looks attractive and like somethinga woman might wear more than once. An
obvious hoax.

LOL .. I'm a regular poster... and have been an AFer for over five
years...definately not a troll. Just looking for suggestions on the
"type" of shoe that I should choose, or have them choose their own.
The wedding is in April.

I find bridesmaids often spoil a perfectly good looking dress by
wearing their clunky black 'my first heels' teenage open–toe sandals
with it, simply because they don't own any other heels.

Because the dress isn't covering the shoes, the women should wear the
same color, and sort of similar styles. I thinkt he sandals that the
model is wearing look great. However, you might want to take into
consideration time of day and weather. If it is snowy and daytime, a
silver or other metallic sandal might be silly. However, a warm spring
evening, this might look very nice.
Only once was I "required" to wear a certain style of shoe as a
bridesmaid. The others I could choose style. Once I got to choose
style AND color. The dress was long, so you didn't see much shoe.

I couldn't find "confetti" in that list of colors. Am I missing it?

I like to see the same shoe style and color on each girl. Whatever you
do, choose something they can safely navigate up and down marble altar
steps and dance in later minus the agony –– i.e. nix on 4 inch heels.

I couldn't find the colour 'confetti' either so here are some suggestions
strictly based on style:
At Nordstrom's:
* Anne Klein New York ´Francie´ Sandal http://tinyurl.com/csmvg
* GUESS? ´Gerri´ Sandal http://tinyurl.com/caf53
* Nine West ´Accolia´ Sandal http://tinyurl.com/89bxh
For something less expected, I *love* this modern, sexy ' Gianna' wedge by
XOXO http://tinyurl.com/d8qge
This Nina ´Camille – Ls´ Slingback Sandal has a 40's vintage feel to it
http://tinyurl.com/cboto
If price is no object, here are a couple of beauties from Saks:
* Jimmy Choo Metallic Leather Sandals http://tinyurl.com/82rkk
* Rene Caovilla Crystal Strappy Sandals http://tinyurl.com/brrsg
From Zappos:
These RSVP camel satin pumps are stunning but again, ankle straps don't suit
every one... http://tinyurl.com/8jxnr
From Zappos Couture:
* Giuseppe Zanotti E5312

* Vera Wang W5029 http://couture.zappos.com/n/p/dp/6493361/c/202.html
If budget is a consideration, Payless actually has some pretty decent
sandals that would coordinate nicely with this dress:
* Idelle – (though keep in mind ankle straps are not flattering to every leg
shape) http://tinyurl.com/9swnh
* Metallic Kackle Birdcage Sandal http://tinyurl.com/8aum7
* Starlet by Star JonesT Hot Coco Sandal http://tinyurl.com/7k7bx
That's it for now. If you can post a description of the colour we can
narrow it down a bit. ;–)
