Project Runway

I watched it last night at 10 p.m. PST on Bravo. I look forward to this
second series. I like few reality shows but this one appeals to me.
Who else saw it?

I have this TiVo'ed since I wasn't home last night, but I fully intend of
snuggling up with the remote tonight to watch it! I enjoyed last season's
episodes and I think this is a unique and interesting take on reality shows.

I was actually home in time to see it and I was excited by it.
I can't wait to watch.

I thought this group showed a lot of promise. Of course, last year,
the first challenge was that stupid trip to the grocery store where
they had to make an outfit out of corn husks and candy necklaces and
such.
But muslin never looked so good. Several of those outfits were
amazing. The second challenge produced several more great outfits,
like that blue and black dress.
Obviously, there are a few weak links there, but I think once those
people get weeded out, it's going to be a great competition.

I watched PR for the first time last night. VERY interesting – I am
hooked.
I like the fairly high standards set for the young designers ..... for
instance, when I first saw that tie–dyed orange sundress, I thought
"Now that is really cute and wearable!"
But then I realized how seriously the judging panel took the results of
this week's project when that dress and its designer were criticized
for being too much of a simple toss–off. I think the designer said he
pulled it off in 8 hours (?) and then he was sternly reminded that he
DID have ONE FULL WEEK, so he could have done mo' better. It was like –
no cutesy shortcuts. Dig deep into creativity and originality.
BTW, that magnet dress was weird. Whaddya mean, "The magnets kept
changing polarity" – ??? The skirt was falling off the runway model.
Geez, just velcro it or something.

Can you imagine actually wearing the magnet dress and every time you sat
down you'd have to feel behind you to make sure they were in place?
Creativity gone overboard. I was very pleased that attention was paid
to the detail Santino used in his dress. It sets a high standard for
the others to meet.

I did, and I think this season will be even better than the last. I'm
really surprised at the level of talent some of these designers have.
I think Santino is the one who did the blue dress for the muslin
challenge? That was beautiful, totally wearable! I also think that
Emmett (I hope I'm getting their names right, he's the one who
mentioned he's 6'6") will be a real contender. The muslin he did,
pink dress with short jacket with beautiful cut–out work, was also
fabulous. I think his outfit was just as nice as Santino's, but of
course there could only be one winner.
I agree with the other poster who looked at the orange tie–dyed dress
and thought it was gorgeous, but when the judges' critiques came in I
could see their points. I'm glad Michael Kors is back for this
season, he seems to be pretty tough but fair, also. I wonder what
it's like to sit in that chair and know he's looking at potential
future competition?
What a shock to see Diane von Furstenberg!
As much as I like the concept of wearable computers, the stuff shown
by the woman with the 'magnets that keep reversing polarity' was
dreadful IMO.
