Eek! Formal dinner wear for men query

"Oscar" <os...@isacat.com>
I'm going to a formal dinner on Friday evening (I know – short notice and
all that), and I need to get a dinner jacket, however, I am wondering if I
need to buy trousers to match the exactly (same sort of material, etc), or
could I get away with wearing a pair of black trousers I already have (which
are new – about a month – hardly worn), but which are quite plain (i.e., no
fancy seam up the side of the legs, etc). Would it be a big fashion faux
pas? I've already got nice evening shoes, shirt, bow and cummerbund – all
in black (of course!!)

Is there a tux shop where you could rent really nice formal slacks for
the evening?
