Faux Fur Care

Any advice out there on how to care for faux fur? One question I have in
particular is how do you get it re–fluffed when it starts to get that matted
look?

I'd check the care instructions first; that will tell you what *not* to do.
If it's washable, I'd wash it on a very gentle cycle; likewise with drying.
It's probably better to wash and dry it or have it cleaned before it gets
too matted.
Also, make sure it's not packed too tightly in the closet. (Don't smoosh
it.)

I don't own one myself so if you have an extra jacket that is taking up
space, send it to me and I will give it a good home. Other than that,
most of these I have seen say to clean by the furrier method. You'll
need to take it to a dry cleaner who specializes in cleaning real fur
to get that nice fluffy look. What does your care instructions say?
Many times these are in the lower portion of a seam lining within the
coat.

Wear a signboard that says
"ATTENTION PETA: This is not a real fur!"

A friend of mine who won't wear real fur but has a very cool faux fur
coat always makes sure to wear a button that has the word "fur" with
the diagonal line through it.
