drugstore foundation primer?

Is there such a thing as drugstore foundation primer? Brands and recs,
please!

I've never seen a drugstore foundation primer. Interested myself to
see if there is such a thing, cofarb.

I love the primer that comes with the Cover Girl foundation in the
dual–sided container. I wish they sold it separately, though, as I use
more of the primer than the foundation. Beverly

I haven't seen a drugstore primer either. I love the Sephora branded
primer – $22. Not drug store priced but cheaper than Smashbox or NARS.
I checked MUA and nothing of the drugstore variety.

Have you tried the Smashbox? If so, how does it compare to the Sephora? (I
got a sample of the Smashbox and that's what prompted my question in the
first place.)
Also, is your skin oily or dry?
thanks,

I have tried Smashbox primer and didn't really like it. It stung
slightly while absorbing and feels like a hair product. Very silicone,
like something I use pre–blowdry. Weird.
But, the Sephora Professional Primer (only $12!) is great! Goes on
smoothly, dries quickly to a soft matte finish, and has a slight
iridescence which I love. I think it keeps skin and foundation bright
and luminous, not dull. I use it under Bare Minerals to keep it lasting
a little longer and it seems much smoother. Highly recommend it. : )

Oh and I use Korres Lemon Anti–Shine Gel in place of moisturiser, then
the Sephora Primer. Good combo for skin that tends to get oily.

OK, I have a question, and maybe I'm being dumb, but.. Smashbox primer
is silicone–based, yes? And some of these scar treatments that I've
looked at are silicone, the Neosporin scar sheets and I think either
Mederma or Scar Zone too. So, if I use a silicone–based primer on a
regular basis, will it help to fade my scars eventually? I have some
acne scars, mostly just discoloration, not pitting.

This makes me feel really good because now I know I can develop a heroin

I must admit I like the Smashbox but it is pricey at $36. I think the
Sephora is comparable at $22. Makeup (L'oreal TruMatch) does really go
on more evenly + pores look smaller. My skin needs moisturiser but gets
pretty oily through the day. So I blot with Clean & Clear blotting
papers. The only thing I really touch up is concealer on spots when I
need it & maybe Clinique powder if I feel like it.

Has anyone tried the MAC primer?
I did look for a drugstore primer, but nothing.

I simply don't remember seeing any kind of primer at the drugstore.

Makeup, it takes believing in. Like a magic carpet, it's belief that
makes it fly. Otherwise, it's just a rug.
If you believe in it, makeup has a magic all it's own.
Of course, makeup is only dime–store magic. But it works well enough,

The Body Shop had one that was around $12 or so.
I scored Paula Dorf primer for $11 on the sale table at Nordy's last month. For
that price, it's great. I also like the Laura Mercier, but pricey, pricey.
Can't say that I've ever seen anything in the drug store.

Lumene has a primer. It's a Finnish brand, but I've think I read that they are
available in some US stores nowadays.

Ultima II used to have one, I want to say it was called Under it all. It was
really very nice, and didn't break me out, and had spf 25! but it stung my
eyes when I sweat (which was daily in the summer). It is definitely worth a
try, but not all that much cheaper than some sephora brands.

I just saw a Lumene display in our local CVS.

Asking with quivering lip––do I need to add one more layer of stuff on
my face?
Already putting on skin bleach, serum, moisturizer, spf, fndtn,
blush....what part can a primer play and what can I eliminate? I have a
funny feeling each one may compromise the others.

What's milia?

I guess it depends on what your skin is like...
I had not been unhappy with the combination of moisturizer and L'Oreal
liquid foundation I'd been using, sometimes topped off with Chanel Rose Dusk
loose powder. But when I added the Smashbox primer (a sample I'd gotten
from Sephora) over the moisturizer, before foundation and powder...a few
hours later I checked my makeup in my car mirror (cruel midday daylight), I
noticed that my skin looked really great.
One of the unknown factors is "What will the primer do to my skin?" I'm
afraid it will make me break out; I get milia and am afraid I'll be stuck
with them after using the primer for a few weeks. Then I'm stuck trying to
cover up flaws that I didn't have before using the primer...

What's milia?
Wendy
Tiny bumps that form under the skin, I assume from clogged pores. I
typically get them after using really "rich" (oily?) products for a period
of time. I think that constant exfoliation keeps them at bay but I don't
want to subject my skin to that kind of abuse. I got the following
definition by googling:
Milia are tiny white bumps or pimples. They occur when dead, normally
sloughed–off skin becomes trapped in small pockets at the surface of the
skin or mouth. Milia are common in newborn infants and appear as pearly
white bumps, most commonly across the upper cheeks, nose, and chin. They are
also commonly seen on the faces of adults or in areas of trauma or
inflammation.

<<<I love the primer that comes with the Cover Girl foundation in the

There was a lengthy article on this product here in the UK, apparently
developed for women who suffer from hot flashes during mid day
activity. To test it, they applied the makeup and primer to salsa
dancers dancing in a heated room. After carefully blotting the sweat,
the makeup was in perfect shape. Apparently there's some unique form
of chemical bond that happens when the pigment of the makeup is added
to the undercoat (primer). It's not over here yet but there is a
similiar product out from Max Factor. I think I'll wait until I go
home to purchase the Cover Girl product. Or, maybe not! I have a swap
coming up with Jinx the Dog so may ask for that...
