Best cosmetics or fragrance holiday gift sets?

"Evie" <isolde...@gmail.com>
There are a lot of gift sets from cosmetics and fragrance companies for
the holiday season, but which one to buy? What do you like?
Here are my picks:
– MAC's Asian–inspired sets ("Memoirs of a Geisha" movie out soon)
– Marc Jacobs perfume set
– Prescriptives refillable makeup kit (cool and warm shades)
– Origins Ginger collection
Surprisingly this year, Chanel's makeup kit was ho–hum. I usually love
the holiday stuff.

Stila golden moon and rose moon palettes. These are the first items by
Stila to renew my interest in the line.

Audrey, what is the quality of the packaging on those palettes by Stila? I
don't buy Stila as a rule because I don't like the packaging.
Thanks,
Smokey

It's a very cute oblong that folds with mirror, three brushes and
palette inside. The outer covering is an Asian inspired fabric. This
is quite good for $25. I know you didn't like the clementine LM I
suggested but I think you'll like these palettes.

Right now I'm a complete sucker for Pop and Pixi palettes... Pop has a
Blue Eyes "eye class" oblong palette with some really interesting
shades for blue eyes. Pixi has a Blond kit in a small white leather
wallet tote with a credit card sized compact containing two eyeshadows,
a blush and two lipcreams. On the other side of the wallet are mini
brushes to use with the compact. Very very cute and the colors are
really lovely for all three––blond, brunette and redhead. Pop also has
a party kit that contains an eye cake, false lashes and glitter +
adhesive. The eye cake is a really interesting blend of
colours–––twilight blue, violet, steel grey and soft sparkling white––I
want them all!

I like the Fresh Memoir of Geisha set – I'm putting it under the tree
for me, unwrapped because the box is just so pretty. I love the scent too.
I've also got my eye on Too Faced Hollywood Glamour in a box for me or
my sister (or both)– it's a great deal.

Great sleuthing. TY for the guidance. I'm sure you had fun doing it :)
I've been attracted to the Gap's new fragranced candles. They have a nice,
tailored–looking, fabric–covered holder with contrasting stitching this
year. Every time I see them I want them! I should just buy it, eh?!?!
Another Gap product I might like is the new fragrance set. What is
disappointing is that the only set I see contains the packaged fragrance
oils. Now, if there were a set of mini spray fragrances, like the one I saw
and bought from the Henry Bendel line at B&BW last year, I'd buy it in a hot
second.
I've shopped only at H&M, Zara, and Gap recently so my comments are severely
limited!

Thanks, Audrey. LOL re the clementine LM –– Just as well I don't LOVE every
lemming item I buy. The Stila palette does look cute and I may succumb.
