Hi Kristin,
Sounds like quite a haul! Enjoy it.
My parents decided to give me my Christmas present earlya complete MAC
makeover, plus one bottle of any perfume that I wanted. I went to Macy's
in
Lexington, KY for my makeover. I first went to the Chanel counter and I
picked out Chanel Chance as my perfume. First of all, I went for
skincare...they were out of blot papers!! So, I skipped those. But I got
some great makeup remover towelettes. They are so awesome. They have the
toner built in, so taking off makeup at night is really easy when I am
tired. Then I wanted one nail polish. I was looking for a very natural
type color, so I looked at 2 of them and I picked out "Sacred White".
It's
a beautiful irridescent type of pinkywhite that is not too sheer but not
too opaque either. I see that they have new bottles for their nail
polish,
from the square ones to the taller oval ones. Then I went for foundation.
I told the lady that I usually wear NC15. Well, she told me that they
d/ced that color. Not sure if that is really true or not, but NC20 was a
pretty good match and I compensated by getting Blot Powder in Light. I
was
buying makeup for the whole next year basically, so I bought 2 tubes of
Studio Finish liquid foundation in NC20 and 3 compacts of Blot Powder in
Light. Then I went for concealer. I needed 2 kinds. One for blemishes
and
one for under eye circles. I got NW20 (I don't know why I got NC for the
foundation but NW for the concealers...) Select Cover Up for under my eyes
and NW20 Studio Finish Concealer in the little pot for zits. Onto blush.
I
wanted products that were easy to apply and did not require brushes coz I
hate cleaning brushes and I usually lose them after awhile or the dog gets
to them. So, I chose a cream blush. I let the SA pick it out for me and
I
ended up with Uncommon Blushcreme, which looks ugly in the pot, but really
amazing once applied. It's kind of a "putty" color but it looks so
natural
on my face. I got 3 lipcolors. I chose Lust Lipglass for the lipgloss,
VivaGlam 5 for the lipcolor (think of a deep nude color), and Pro Longwear
Lipcolor (my fave out of all of them! This product is so much better than
Outlast or Lipfinity) in Payoff (a coppery shade). I also got 2 oval
makeup
sponges, I forgot to mention that. I got 2 Spice lip pencils (I go
through
lip pencils quickly) and a sharpener. The Spice goes with all 3
lipcolors.
Next to the eyes. The SA chose Burnt Umber Pro Longlash for my mascara
and
I bought 2 cream eyeshadows that can be used alone or together. I got
Beigeing (they are kind of like eye shadow "pens", which don't require
brushes and are goofproof to apply) which is a dark champagne color and
then I also bought Overcast, which is almost a white frosty color (not as
garish as it sounds tho). I refused to get any eyeliner or do anything
about my brows. So, that was my makeover! The SA told my dad (who was my
ride) that it would take about an hour to do it, well I had it all picked
out in about 15 mins and it took her 5 mins to apply it all. I had
forgotten how nice dept store makeup is, compared to the stuff I had
gotten
at the drug stores. So, I am storing away my drug store makeup somewhere
safe and I am going to only use the nice MAC stuff. The SA said that I
looked "polished" coz I was worried I was wearing too much makeup. So,
nothing at all under the tree for me at Christmas coz this was my
Christmas
present LOL. I figured that I saved my parents' time and money by getting
exactly what I wanted rather than them spend money on stuff I don't want,
don't need, or won't use. :)
