OT: As Seen on TV products

Which ones have you tried? Which ones are worth it and which ones are
not so great?
....post inspired by watching the infomercial for the "Flavorwave Delox
Oven". I like the idea of cooking frozen steaks in 18 minutes.

My best friend has a small Ronco Showtime Rotisserie, and loves it (it's
either this one – http://tinyurl.com/axrdj or the next size up). You
can't just set it and leave it like they say in the informercial – you
need to keep an eye on it – but she says it's easy to use and clean and
works really well.

I use the large showtime rotisserie to roast chickens, and it is a lot
easier to clean than my self–cleaning oven. The oven racks take forever
to clean. The Foreman grill was first advertised on tv, and it is great.
I do not use any makeup products from infomercials mainly because I
don't watch the infomercials. I keep waiting though for someone to give
me a Chia pet or clapper.

Well Audrey, if I get your name in the SS I'll keep those last two in mind.

Of course I'm not joking. This week they showed a chia pet that
resembled Scooby Doo.

They have all the Joseph Enterprises products on this site... so if
you want to see the Ove Glove, the Clapper, etc.
IMHO, those ads are going to be classic Americana.

My friend bought a 'magic bullet' – the mixer, not the toy ;) and she's
a big hit at all our parties – it makes great mixed drinks.

Weird! I received a chia as a gift around 1948. It was a man's head. He
looked like an Egyptian King. I am surprised they came back again.

Unless you don't watch TV, I'm more surprised that you've managed to
miss the cheesy ads for them every holiday season for as long as I can
remember!

Okay, I'm going to have to burst your bubble on the Chia pet...I got
one a few years ago for Christmas (a turtle! and yes, I did have it on
my Christmas list) and the grass did not grow in evenly, and the stuff
that did grow in eventually became moldy. I followed instructions, but
I admit, I'm not such a green thumb, so maybe somone with more plant
experience would make it work.

I liked the Ove Glove, got it at my nearby Walgreens when it went on sale. :)
I hate to pay those outrageous shipping costs.

How sad. I really wanted to watch the grass grow. I do a lot of
gardening and always pay attention to the growth of the plants and
flowers every week. It is also fun to see "volunteers" do well. We once
had the best tomato plant in the front yard that came from some seeds
that must have just blown into the ground. I wouldn't mind uneven
growth but not mold.
