they're beautiful! i have a pair of rimless
http://www.italee.com/kawa/main.htm kawasaki frames ... the side pieces are
an icy blue metal. these are my third pair; the first ones were damaged
shortly after i got them; i was watering the garden and dropped them, then
stepped on them, breaking one of the lenses. they cost a bit more than $500
(progressive lenses). i was freaked! but, i paid for them with an american
express card, and american express would replace (i called on sunday). when
i called my optician on monday, i discovered they'd replace the lens free of
charge ... their policy ... i'm not sure for how long. so, you might want
to check to see what's covered at the place you purchased your glasses. as
for the reason i've replaced pair #2, a german shepherd ate them. i know
:)! i'm more careful now. and it wasn't my dog. my dog would never do
that!
Congratulations, Audrey. Are they your first rimless glasses? Will your
insurance cover breakage?
I love rimless frames. My third pair is on order now. My first pair were
also hingeless; they were really comfortable but they didn't keep their
shape. My second pair has hinges but they also torque out of alignment
because I don't always use two hands when I remove them. The pair that's
on order now is supposed to be indestructiblethough when the optician
was demonstrating how flexible they are, the sample frames snapped in two.
Enjoy your glasses!
