Loyalty points––favorite makeup items

"MaureyL" <Maur...@aol.com>
I was inspired by the "loyal to your foundation?" post earlier on...
here's a list of what I'm loyal to–––
1. Mascara. This either has to be Jo Malone's Lash Darkener or
Stephane Marais's comb mascara. They both do a great job at defining
my lashes.
2. Concealer/highlighter. Touche Eclat. I don't need anything else.
3. Loose powder. Px custom blend loose and Jo Malone's Loose. Have
to have them! They give a lovely finish and the subtle sparkles in the
Malone powder lifts my makeup just a bit. I'm always looking for a
glow!
4. powder eyebrow pencil––there are several versions of this. Right
now I'm using Bliss's pencil. With or without eyebrows, this gives me
softness and precision.
5. Revlon Colorlock Lipbase–– I think you can still get this in
Canada. It's a must have for me to keep my lipcolors in place.

So many of my HG "loyal–only–to"'s have been discontinued I've become a
little wary of becoming too attached to any one thing. But having been
'round a the block a few times with a few different brands of products:
*Nuxe Lipbalm is one item still available that I've become very partial
to and have not been able to find a suitable replacement for.
*L'Oreal's Airwear foundation bit the dust, but last I looked, they
still made the concealer. I'll use no other (until they kill that,
too. <sigh>)
And to think my MiL has been using the same color of EL lipstick since
1979!

Lancone's Extensils. I play around with others, but always return.

BE – it works for me.

Lancome or Clinique lipsticks, they work for me.
6. Eyeliner – brown–black or grey, Ulta, Lancôme, or Sephora.
7. Eye shadows – Ulta, Sephora, Lancôme, MAC, Nars . . . what can I say, I'm
a liner junky.

Does Quicken count as makeup? I use it to figure out how to cover

Just bought a new Kiss Me tester off ebay: after hearing all the raves
about it here, decided I have to try it.

Stacy Ferguson <stac...@stacyef.net>
Foundations and powders: No loyalty. I'm totally promiscuous here.
Highlighter: Dior Skinflash in #2 (Candlelight). I used to use Touche
Eclat but that's too pink for me and if it's cold and my skin is a
little dry, I have problems with even application of the YSL product.
Concealer: I refuse to consider this because this is the one makeup
category in which EVERY new favorite is discontinued before I need to
replace it (e.g. Chanel's wand concealer in "Candlelight", Shu's pencil
concealer).
Eyeliner: These days I'm addicted to Dior's Style Liner in black (an
inkwell liquid liner). I thought that application of this would be a
nightmare, particularly since the brush is EXTREMELY fine and I want a
very thin, well defined line that will also disappear into my lash line
I generally have a problem doing this with liquid liners. I'm amazed at
how easy it is for me to control.
If I'm feeling lazier and don't want to be as careful with application,
my standby is Awake's Stardom liner in brown (liquid pen with a brush
tipped applicator, similar in overall design to Touche Eclat)
Eye Shadow: Little loyalty, although there are brands I actively avoid.
Blush: Nars Orgasm. I hit pan on my second one recently and now the
remaining product has broken into small pieces. I'm picking up a new one
this weekend.
Lipstick: Again, no loyalty whatsoever.
Mascara: Kiss Me
Nail polish, when I wear it: OPI polishes and Seche Vite top coat. I've
been sticking to nudes and OPI is the ONLY brand that I can count on for
non–streaky application of pale pinks and beiges.
