While I'm posting...

dellap...@netscape.net
....has anyone else found a GREAT AF–related deal at Tuesday Morning? I
have always loved this store for housewares, stationery and
miscellaneous fun crap. But I never really noticed their clothes and
handbags until this week. I dug through a huge pile of handbags and
found, buried behind a ton of Sak and Maxx bags, a huge, beautiful,
lipstick pink, smooth leather Jack Georges laptop bag. I'm not sure if
it's meant as a laptop bag but it sure works well.
It's this bag, but think bright, happy, matte pink:

In fact, here's a different bag but in the same pink:
http://www.jackgeorges.com/product_info.php/products_id/235
I am just a tiny little bit bummed because I think pink is sort of
yesterday's news. But I don't care too much, it's too great of a bag.
And of course the price, well, I earned myself a boatload of
Cofarb–bucks.

I didn't know they carried handbags. I'll have to look more carefully.

I love the bag you got. I think I'm going to buy myself an early Christmas
gift. Is is soft to touch? I'm trying to decide among camel, cherry,
brown, and black.

They HAVE that? Man, my wife will go mental there.

Now that I'm in a nicer 'hood, there's a better Tuesday Morning near me
that I must scope out more carefully next time. We were there for a
quick walkabout and mostly concentrated on toys and xmas decor, but the
clothes/bags also looked promising. There were cute outfits for little
AFers too.

Repeat after me *pink is never out of style; pink is never out of
style*
It's a gorgeous bag; enjoy.

It's not soft, but it's smooth. That is, it's not like buttery
leather, and it has a nice stiff structure to it. But it's sooooo
smooth and nice, and I am paranoid about getting any scuffs or snags on
it.
I noticed that not every Tuesday Morning has clothing, and the bigger
one near me only has one round rack of it. It's become my favorite
store recently. I found tons of nice Crane's stationery after having
fun digging through some piles!

I have never even been into a Tuesday Morning, though I think there
might be one or two out in the hinterlands. I will make it a point to
find one.
I always thought they were more of a Big Lots type place.

You are the best. I bought the middle child a gorgeous red rectangular
shaped leather briefcase http://tinyurl.com/b6weq that is in perfect
condition. It will be for her birthday in January and she can use it
when she clerks next summer. I also bought Crane's notecards, holiday
thank you cards, trouser socks, a Raggedy Ann doll to go with the book
for a Christmas gift and assorted Christmas bags. Thank you for
posting.

How good are the prices on bags at Tuesday Morning?
Thanks,

I hauled myself to the one in Freeport just this afternoon after reading
the original post. The Jack George bag that Dellapina purchased was
$135. They had it in light blue and a lime green.
I passed.

You are very welcome, I am happy to pass on the good shopping karma!
To answer a question from another post – the prices are very good,
usually half off retail or more. Mine was indeed $135, but the
original price was $275. They had this one too, same price:
http://www.travelersshoppes.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=556
The thing about Tuesday Morning – at least in my view – is that it
isn't really CHEAP, it's just cheaper than usual. $85 for a sauce pan
isn't exactly "cheap" but when it's Calphalon and normally $180, it's a
great deal!

The savings was one hundred dollars. I've bought Le Creuset there half
price but usually I go there for paper products and stationery. The bags
were sort of smashed into a small spot so I took them all out and hung
them up nicely. At least three shoppers looked at them or handled them
while I was looking at the stationery across the aisle.
