Pants leg question

"mypet" <mypetandyo...@hotmail.com>
In shopping for pants I come across quite a few with tapered legs.
This surprises me as most of the pants legs I see being worn are
bootleg or flares.
On the makeover shows they say that pleats and tapered legs are not
flattering and I agree.
So, how wide are your pants legs at the hem?
Do you prefer pleats or flat front?

I would only wear tapered if I planned on tucking them into boots.

Flat. I have slimmish hips, so pleats do nothing for me.

i mostly wear flat front pants with a bootleg cut or a straight cut.
i'm a bit on the curvy side, so i get these pants a little longer and
wear heels with them. it's flattering and elongates my legs

Ugh! The horror imagining that tapered leg pants with pleats will come
back into style again. While men's mod 60's pants are cool in that
Vespa riding way, the idea of those MC Hammer pants ever coming back
into vogue for men makes me shudder.

My eye is now so accustomed to bootleg or flare that tapered pants
would make my legs look like popsicle sticks. Ewwww. And flat front
only, puhleeese!

My pants (unless they are wide–legged) are always tailored in the hips
and thighs with a bootcut or flare at the hem. The last pair of pants
I owned that were tapered were problably jeans with zippers at the
ankles circa elementary school– I never liked them to begin with, but
mom did!
As for pleats, I never buy pants with pleats since they are
unflattering on most figures and do nothing for my tall, boy–ish shape.

It's a particular kind of snobbery on the part of the designers to push
tapered trousers on the general public. They only look good on models
and even then, it's a thin line between looking hip and looking ugly.
The rest of us should stick with the bootlegs or flares...
