OT: The continuing disintegration of Saks Incorporated...

First, Belk snapped up the Proffit's and McRae's chains in the South.
FWIW, McRae's once included Pizitz (I lived in Alabama when that
switchover happened).
Now, there's a report Bon–Ton has made an offer for Carson Pirie
Scott, Younkers and Herberger's.
If that goes through, all Saks will have left other than Saks is
Parisian (another Alabama shopping standby).

I have a closet filled with Saks Real Clothes. I hope Saks will stay in

It's the fastest way I can think of Wal–Mart to go upscale.

I thought that was a done deal, though I may be wrong.
They said they will not lose any jobs in Milwaukee, WI and will move
some jobs from York, PA to Milwaukee. Milwaukee is the HQ for the
Boston Store segment of CPS, and I think they do most of the
advertising work there.
