VL Water Canvas RAVE

"Jamie" <zuschlag–sequ...@tds.net>
I LOVE this Vincent Longo Water Canvas creme–to–powder foundation!! I
bought it 3–4 months ago and every single time I wear it I rave to DH that
it is the most beautiful product that I can imagine! Thank you to all who
answered my questions about it, offered me comparisons, and generally,
enabled me in purchasing it.
This foundation makes my face feel cool upon application and I don't feel it
sliding off my face in our heat. It does not offer complete coverage but
covers up my facial redness beautifully and still lets my freckles show
through. It looks like me, only better! I do have a couple of very small
broken capillaries that I'd like more coverage on but I'm loving this
foundation so much that I'm willing to settle.
This is expensive but so worth it to me. I don't wear foundation every day
but when I do, I find myself inevitably reaching for this instead of my
Maybelline DMM (which was working well). I probably will try Awake's
version (as per [Barbara's?] suggestion) to see if I think it measures up to
the Vincent Longo. That recommendation was that Awake's product was
comparable to VL and cheaper but maybe dryer.
Anyway, thanks to all! I'm loving this! It matches my skin tone perfectly
(creme beige), blends in seamlessly, and makes me beautiful.

I haven't posted about this in ages, but I love it too, and wear the
same shade as you, creme beige. :) It is great stuff!

I've tried Awake's version since it's also made by Kose, but it's not
the same to me. Not as light and velvety feeling. Colors are also not
exactly the same.
HTH.

Jean,
I've been wearing Classic Ivory but it's not a perfect match. It almost
seems a little too pink when I begin to apply it but it's close and I can
make it work. I like the finish of DMM but it is a 'wetter' finish than the
VL. It looks really smooth and creamy to me. The VL is damp feeling and
cool upon application but,of course, dries down to a powder like finish and
isn't as wet feeling later. It functions better for me in our very humid
weather. Oh, and most importantly, it doesn't settle into and exaggerate
any lines on my face. This is usually what happens to my normal skin with
powder.

P.S. I am one of those who have never determined whether I am cool or warm
in foundations; I just choose what I think is the closest to my skin tone,
and brown hair with very light green eyes, which is usually neutral. I was
matched in the Vincent Longo by an SA. I figured that if I was going to
spend the money, I had better be able to wear it. When she matched me, I
said "I can't even see it." Her reply "That's the sign of a perfect match!"
And she was so right!

Hmmmmm. Yeah. Ami said she thought it was more dry. I'll probably stick
with my winner! Thanks!
