Back on the 28th I visited the Sephora at Oak Brook Center. I had no
particular items in mind and just wanted to look at all the goodies.
Nothing was calling to me, not the Nars Orgasm or Dolce Vita, not the
Shu Uemura eyelash curler, nothing. (not that I really needed anything
except one of those $100 makeup cases) I was feeling desperate: "I'm
an AFer and I can't leave Sephora without buying something!"
So I decided to look at fragrance (which I own little of) So I was
testing out interesting looking bottles on the little paper strip
thingies: "no no no, maybe, no, ew ew ew, not bad" Then an SA came up
and he asked if I needed help and what kind of fragrance I was looking
for. I told him, white florals and florientals and he started
getting strips too. We weren't having much luck and I was about to
settle on Amore Amore by Cacharel which always smells so great in the
magazine inserts but he suggested Stella McCartney as a similar but
better quality scent. So I tested out a strip and I liked it. (though
I still like the Amore Amore) He suggested the eau de toilette as a
better bang for my buck. I was going to go for the eau de parfum but
the toilette had a more interesting bottle. I'm probably STILL going
to get some Amore Amore. I should have just ignored the SA, but he
was nice and helpful and I didn't want to disappoint him. I must have
temporarily lost my SA resistance!
At checkout the young woman there mentioned that if you make a
donation to a cause that I can't remember (I think it was for facial
surgery for kids who needed it) you get a lip balm so I did that.
I was running late for my meeting so I didn't make it over to MAC.
Trying to remember if there was anything else I've bought recently...
Oh another one of those great Maybelline ShinyLicious glosses.in
lolly pink
and some Levis jean capris.and some stretchy t's from WalMart. Been
keeping an eye out at WalMart for more of those wonderful jeans that
fit, in my size. They seem to be getting picked over pretty good.

Makeup, it takes believing in. Like a magic carpet, it's belief that
makes it fly. Otherwise, it's just a rug.
If you believe in it, makeup has a magic all it's own.
Of course, makeup is only dimestore magic. But it works well enough,
